+A VectorCraft addition, not a feature of the reference app, so no area score moves. Object › Plug-ins › Document Tools › New Symbols from Layers makes one symbol of each top-level layer's art (the layers given, else those highlighted in the Layers panel when two or more are, else every layer), named after the layer (a number added when a symbol has that name), with New Symbol's own steps: the art normalized to its natural size, registration in the centre, threaded text keeping the text it shows, and sublayers held as groups. Convert Layers to Symbols does the same and puts an instance of each symbol in place of its layer's art, at the same place and size, selecting the instances; locked layers are skipped then. Empty layers are skipped and reported, all in one undo step (none when nothing is made). Tests: `cmd::addons::document::tests` in `vectorcraft-engine` (a symbol per layer, unique names, empty and locked layers reported, replacement in place, the highlighted layers as the default, bad layer ids refused, one undo step), `new_symbols_from_layers_and_convert_layers_to_symbols` in `vectorcraft-ui-egui` and `command_sweep`.
