* Print: 4 x 6 in label paper and a Label layout for shipping labels
Thermal label printers (e.g. VEVOR Y486) could not be used for eBay/carrier
labels: the paper list had no 4 x 6 in size, the chosen paper was never sent
to CUPS (the queue's default was used), and labels laid out sideways on a
Letter/A4 sheet printed small or rotated.
- PAPERS gains "4 x 6 in label (101.6 x 152.4 mm)"; cups_media() sends the
chosen sheet to the spooler as `-o media=` (Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A3-A5
and w288h432 for the label), so the driver feeds the size the PDF was
laid out on.
- New Layout::Label: each page is cut to its printed area (a low-resolution
render, as Fit Visible does), turned a quarter turn when it is sideways in
the direction that makes its text upright (text_reads_up reads the text
and form matrices), and fitted uniformly with a small margin. Vector
content is kept, so barcodes stay sharp and undistorted. "Turn upside
down" flips it 180 degrees. One label per sheet.
- Choosing the label paper selects the Label layout, and vice versa.
- Strings translated in every bundled catalog.
Tests: label geometry (crop, quarter turns, no stretching, margins),
cups_media, text direction; print, ui-egui and automation unit tests pass.

* Keep selected form values and page content through later edits (#1319, #1305, #1324, #1306)
An XFA radio item whose text contains a space was written back as an appearance-state name, so the next layout selected nothing. Replace Pages filled the gap between a split selection. Marking a figure decorative replaced every content stream on the page. Control clicks and drags accepted coordinates that overflow to infinity.
* Move the decorative-figure regression out of pdfcraft-edit
edit and a11y are both layer 4, so a dev-dependency from edit to a11y fails the layer check. The same regression now runs in the engine, which already depends on both.
* Drop pdfcraft-a11y from the edit crate's lockfile entry

* M3: add selected-text Copy to page and Edit menus (#1225)
Register selected page-text Copy with the existing document permission gate and expose it in Edit and the ordinary page context menu. Route floating Copy through the same gate while preserving focused-input and Organize clipboard ownership.
Four regressions fail behaviorally on the exact base; five candidate regressions pass. All eight cargo xtask ci stages pass: 2575 tests passed, 12 ignored, and 31 WASM crate checks. Native synthetic checks verify Unicode clipboard output, disabled no-selection/restricted actions, and permissions-password unlock using presented Xvfb/Vulkan software-rendered frames. Physical display and hardware GPU coverage are not claimed; the optional cargo-deny audit was unavailable.

* Tests: scope GoToR case mutation to Unix for Windows Clippy

On wasm32-unknown-unknown the engine has neither a clock (`now()` is empty) nor a time zone
(`local_utc_offset()` is 0), so in a browser Fill & Sign stamps 1 Jan 1970 and `/ModDate` is never
written. The one way to inject a clock, `with_clock`, is a test shortcut: it takes the injected
instant AS local time and zeroes the zone, so a host that injects only that gets either the local
dates or the UTC ones wrong by its offset (21:30 in São Paulo, UTC-3, is already the next day
in UTC).
`Session::with_wall_clock(clock, utc_offset)` keeps the two separate: `clock` is the UTC instant
(what the file records) and `utc_offset` is asked on every use, because the zone changes with
daylight saving. `Automation::with_wall_clock` forwards it. Nothing changes for a native build, or
for `with_clock`.
The test pins the contrast: at 21:30 in São Paulo the stamped day is the 14th, `signing_date`
carries `-03'00'`, the file's instant stays 00:30Z on the 15th, and the plain test clock still
answers the 15th.

New files from Combine, Extract, Split and Create, signed, timestamped and
LTV-embedded files and the OCR batch output reopen with their pages before
anyone writes them, as saves already did. The desktop app, the automation
tools (with or without --root) and the CLI's edit, combine, extract and
split write through pdfcraft_platform::staging::write_atomically, so a
failed write or --out naming the input never leaves a half-written file.
Special files such as /dev/stdout are still written as given.

* Edit: crop an existing page image with its handles
ImageChange::Crop(rect) keeps the part of a page image inside rect (user space)

Auto-size fields (`0 Tf`, often inherited from the AcroForm /DA) fit their
value to the box in the page appearance, but the in-place editor and the
preview shown before the page re-renders ignored it: they used a fixed guess
from the box height, never shrank to the width and never wrapped multiline
text, so long values ran past the box and were clipped.
The fit now lives in one place, `appearance::auto_text_size_by` (re-exported
as `field_auto_text_size_by`). The page appearance measures with Helvetica;
the screen measures with the interface font it draws in, which is wider and
breaks lines differently, so the text stays inside the box on screen too. The
editor wraps at the same scaled width the size was fitted to. Explicit sizes
are unchanged and still clip, as in Acrobat.
Tests: forms auto_text_size_fits_single_and_multiline_text (incl. NaN/inf/
negative boxes and a NaN measurer); ui-egui
auto_size_fields_shrink_and_wrap_typed_text_to_fit_their_box (fails with the
old on-screen sizing restored).

* M9: signature labels follow the interface language, and one the font can't draw is refused, never written as ?
The labels of a visible signature ("Digitally signed by", "Reason: ", ...) were written in WinAnsi unchecked, and every caller passed the English defaults. Now:
- sign: a drawn label is checked as the details are, and one Helvetica can't draw is refused (SignError::Unsupported) naming the label and the character. AppearanceLabels::fields and ::first_undrawable say which labels a caller can use.
- ui-egui: signing stamps the labels in the interface language when Helvetica can draw all of them, otherwise all in English (never a mix) with a note under the preview. The preview uses the same labels, the stamp's line layout and the signing time.
- automation: sign_document takes optional labels and appearance; a label the font can't draw, an unknown key or one without a visible signature is InvalidArgs.
- Catalogs: the five labels and the note in every language; refresh hashes.

Flattening the fields of a laid-out XFA form used to leave the XFA in
the file: Adobe's viewers then laid the form out again from the
template over the baked pages, so the "flattened" PDF was still a live
form there and a plain one everywhere else.
pdfcraft_xfa::strip takes the XFA out of a document: the packets
(template, data and all), /NeedsRendering on the catalog and the
AcroForm, the layout mark, the overrides, and the private keys on
every field down the tree. The engine calls it after Flatten form
fields on a document with XFA packets, so the result is a plain PDF
every viewer shows the same, and for the new Edit::XfaToStatic
("Convert to a static form"; tool xfa_to_static), which keeps the
laid-out pages and the fields with their values as an ordinary
AcroForm that no viewer lays out again and whose scripts no longer
run. Both undoable: the engine's post-edit refresh re-reads the
layout mark to drop or restore its XFA state and the cached template.
What the packets held beyond the fields is reported (packets by
name, data no field showed, buttons left inert, the layout's own
warnings, Reader usage rights) as document warnings, and a dynamic
form that was never laid out is refused rather than left with
nothing. Applying redactions shares the same strip. Closes the last
planned XFA parity entry (form.xfa-flatten shipped).
Inserting an annex into a guide dropped the annex's bookmarks: the pages
came in without them, while Combine Files keeps every file's bookmarks
under one named after the file.
Insert pages from file now does the same: the inserted file's bookmarks,
destinations mapped to the copied pages (positions kept, named ones
resolved), go under one new bookmark titled with the file's name at its
first inserted page, collapsed. That bookmark is placed among the
document's top-level bookmarks before the first one pointing after the
inserted pages. A file without bookmarks adds none.

The Update and Remove commands existed and were enabled only when the
document had that kind of mark, but no menu listed them. A tool entry in
the catalogue can now list further commands (ToolItem::actions); the tool
panel shows a caret and opens a menu, each command enabled by its own
needs. Add stays usable with no document open (it asks for a file first).
Tests: the catalogue's menus name registered commands starting with the
entry's own, and every edit.*.update / edit.*.remove is reachable from a
tool entry.
* M11: merge image fragments, and the Standard and Mobile optimizer presets
Some PDF printers draw a page picture as thousands of images one pixel row
high (one real page: 3,300 strips, 4.3 MB). The optimizer works image by
image, a one-row image can't be resampled, and every JPEG strip carries its
own headers, so Reduce File Size saved 2 bytes on it.
- pdfcraft-optimize `fragments` (Settings::merge_fragments, on by default):
runs of `q … cm /Im Do Q` drawing upright 8-bit grey or RGB images in one
colour space, sharing their left and right edges and stacked edge to edge
(at least four, nothing else drawn between them; or, failing that, the
rows drawn one under the other up to a gap) become one lossless image at
their finest resolution. The image settings then resample it, and Clean
Up drops the strips. A page whose content can't be read back exactly is
left alone.
- Presets as in Acrobat's Settings menu: Standard (Reduce File Size's
choices) and Mobile (images above 144 ppi to 96 ppi, JPEG high). The PDF
Optimizer dialog has a Settings menu (Custom once an option changes) and
a Merge image fragments box; doc_optimize takes preset and
merge_fragments and reports merged_images and fragments_merged.
- A progress stage for the merge; four new strings in all 21 catalogs.
On the real page: Standard/Reduce 4.3 MB → 231 KB, Mobile → 161 KB, with
a rendering closer to the original than Acrobat's Mobile result (147 KB).

Field detection read only vector data: text-layer words and drawn
rectangles and lines. A scanned form is a single picture, so it found
nothing there.
A page that an image covers at least half of, and whose content draws
no lines, is now rendered at 144 dpi and its shapes are read from the
pixels (pdfcraft_forms::detect::raster): ink against a local mean,
long thin runs as lines, enclosed rectangular patches of paper as
boxes, the empty band of a box with a small printed label as its
writing area, and the open-ended horizontal lines as rules. Labels come
from the text layer, else from OCR when the models are installed;
without either the fields get default names. Detection works in the
displayed frame, so a scan stored sideways reads like any other, and
fields on a turned page get /MK /R so typing reads upright.

The print-ready PDF that `pdfcraft_print::impose` builds starts from a new
catalog with only /Type and /Pages, so the document's /OCProperties was not
carried over. The pages' marked content still refers to its optional-content
groups, but nothing said a group was off, so a layer that is switched off in
the document (and not drawn on screen) was printed anyway.
Keep /OCProperties in the new catalog, so the sheets hide the same layers the
document hides. Test: a one-page document whose red square is in a layer; with
the layer off by default it is not drawn on screen and, now, not on the
printed sheet; with the layer on it is drawn in both.
Printing still follows the layers' default state only; applying the Print
event of /AS (a layer shown only on screen or only in print) is not done here.
Validate serialized PDF bytes and page count before replacing the destination in desktop and automation saves. Reject unreadable or page-losing output before file replacement and saved-state updates.
Keep staging writes synced before publication and retain the regression for a repaired page tree that cannot survive a full rewrite.

it reads upright as the page is displayed.

* M8: redaction unlinks removed images and forms from inherited and shared resources
Apply Redactions and Remove Hidden Information give a rewritten page its own
pruned /Resources, but the dictionary the page drew through before could still
name the image or form that was removed:
- a /Resources inherited from a /Pages node;
- one resource dictionary object shared by several pages;
- the page's own dictionary, when a form without /Resources drew the image
through it.
A full-rewrite save keeps whatever is still referenced, so the removed image
samples and form text stayed in the saved file while the operation reported
success. Per-page resources (the case fixed in #1099) were not affected.
The interpreter now records the original object behind every XObject it drops
or replaces. After the page loop, each page-tree resource dictionary that still
names one loses that entry unless a page drawing through that dictionary still
draws the name (the same image on another page, or again outside a mark). A
dictionary that loses an entry is replaced by a private copy on its node, so a
dictionary object shared with other nodes is left alone for them. If a page's
use of a name cannot be told (unreadable content, a form that will not decode),
the operation fails closed.
Tests: redacted_xobjects_do_not_survive_through_inherited_or_shared_resources,

Not covered here: originals named by a form XObject's own /Resources, by an
annotation appearance or by a pattern.

* M9: a cross-reference entry the reader sets aside is never an unchanged signed object
The reader that judges post-signing changes and the renderer that draws the
page resolve some cross-reference entries differently. A revision appended
after signing could redefine a page's content stream and give the object an
entry the reader sets aside while the renderer follows it:
- an in-use entry at offset 0 (the reader skips it; the renderer fails to read
the object there, rebuilds its index and takes the last definition);
- a second entry for the same object in one section (the reader keeps the
first, the renderer the last).
The classifier compared the signed object with itself, found nothing changed
and reported the signature Valid while the page showed the new content.
pdfcraft-cos now records the entries it does not take at face value
(Document::xref_oddities: offset-0 in-use entries other than object 0,
duplicate entries that differ, reserved cross-reference stream types, and a
hybrid /XRefStm entry that disagrees with the table), and can say whether an
entry locates the object itself (Document::xref_entry_is_exact). What it
resolves is unchanged.
classify_changes treats any such entry added after the signed revision as a
change that is never permitted (page content when the object was a signed page
or its content, other changes otherwise). An object whose content compares
equal at a new place is unchanged only when its entry is exact: where the
reader had to search for the object, another reader may arrive elsewhere.
Tests: a_cross_reference_entry_the_reader_sets_aside_does_not_hide_new_page_content,
a_cross_reference_entry_that_misses_its_object_is_not_an_unchanged_object,
cross_reference_entries_that_are_set_aside_are_recorded,
an_entry_that_misses_its_object_is_found_by_searching_but_is_not_exact.
This closes the two demonstrated triggers and their near variants. It does not
prove that the two parsers agree on every file: other differences in what each
tolerates may remain.

* M8: Apply Redactions is refused when the page still shows text under a mark
Redaction decides what lies under a mark from the positions its own
interpreter computes, and its verify pass reuses them. Where those differ from
the renderer's, a mark drawn over the text as displayed lies over glyphs the
interpreter places elsewhere, or does not see at all: they stayed in the file
and the operation reported success.
The case the test pins: a font and size set through an ExtGState /Font entry
(`gs`), which the renderer honours and the interpreter does not model. The same
kind of gap was observed for a font a form XObject takes from its caller, for
some predefined CMaps and for a rotated Type 3 font matrix. The standard-14
width error that first showed it is fixed at its root by d0d1ad81.
The engine now asks the renderer, which is what the user saw when placing the
marks. After redaction runs, the result is written as a save would write it
(without the marks' own overlay), its text is extracted, and a glyph still at
least half inside a mark fails the edit with the existing "could not be
verified" error. The edit runs on a copy, so the document is unchanged. A page
whose text cannot be read back fails the same way.
This makes such mismatches fail closed; it does not make those documents
redactable. Teaching the interpreter each of them is separate work.
Test: redaction_is_refused_when_the_page_still_shows_text_under_a_mark (the
line whose font is set by `gs` is refused and left unchanged; the same line set
with `Tf` is redacted).

Two follow-ups the maintainer asked for after #1355.
The script session's worker now says when the engine is ready for the
script it was sent (its JavaScript context built; FormCalc at once),
and the script's time limit runs from then, with the engine's own
start limit before it, as the one-shot path always did: building a
context is not charged to the script, which matters on a busy machine.
A field inside an area shares its data node with a field of the same
name outside it (areas are left out of data paths). The in-place
refresh of the live form now follows the data path through the tree
and gives every field bound to the node the value the tree builder
would, each by its own template field (an exclusion group there means
a rebuild), and the engine's value setter, with an index of widgets by
data node, gives every widget bound to the node the value by its own
kind, hidden fields included, writing the data whenever the node's
text differs. The script's time now also starts after its host and
globals are set up. A stale parity note (choosing a picture for an
image field, delivered in #1175) is removed.
A build compiled with PDFCRAFT_BUILD_LABEL=<label> shows "0.7.1 (<label>)"
in `pdfcraft --version`, `pdfcraft-cli --version`, Help > About and the
first log line (pdfcraft_engine::build_info). The version itself is
unchanged, so the update check, the MCP server info and the User-Agent
still carry the release version.
packaging/linux/package.sh puts the label in the file names
(pdfcraft-0.7.1-<label>-linux-x86_64.rpm) and makes the .rpm/.deb release
`1.<label>` (nfpm `release: ${RELEASE}`, 1 when unlabelled). rpm sorts
0.7.1-1.<label> after 0.7.1-1 and before 0.7.2-1, so a locally built
package upgrades over the installed release and the next release replaces
it. packaging/env.sh accepts only letters, digits and inner dots, which
are valid in both rpm and deb release fields.
Unlabelled builds are unchanged.
Made with Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5, medium effort). It passes the
workspace quality gates (fmt, clippy, cargo test --workspace, xtask assets)
and was checked by hand on Fedora 44, but it has not been exhaustively
regression tested.

* fix(ui): dragged added text follows the pointer before release (fixes#1488)
* fix(ui): keep a moved item in place until the page is redrawn (fixes#1488)
* M14: add Lithuanian interface localization
Register Lithuanian UI and date languages with three integer plural forms
and a 2,572-entry contributor-original catalog. Cover dynamic dialog labels,
contextual calendar and certificate wording, commands, tools, and every key
in the other bundled catalogs. Add real-shell calendar, inspector and
password-dialog regressions; preserve PDF values and document state.
Update localization documentation and asset attribution. Native-speaker/VLKK
terminology review remains outstanding.
Validation: cargo xtask ci passed; cargo-deny was skipped because it is not
installed. Five rendered dialogs and contributor manual testing checked UI.
Co-Authored-By: OpenAI gpt-6.1-sol <noreply@openai.com>
* M14: preserve multilingual localization documentation
Restore the existing language descriptions instead of replacing general
localization guidance with Lithuanian-specific coverage. List every
registered language and control-channel code; keep Lithuanian details
alongside the existing catalog descriptions.
Include the previously omitted Kazakh, Polish, Slovenian, Greek and Turkish
catalogs in the shipped-language table without changing the historical
coverage snapshot or existing assessments. Keep Lithuanian roadmap notes
concise and additive.
Validation: all 22 registered languages appear in documentation; every
existing descriptive paragraph is retained. cargo xtask ci passed, with
cargo-deny skipped because it is not installed.
Co-Authored-By: OpenAI gpt-6.1-sol <noreply@openai.com>
* M14: record completed Lithuanian native-speaker review
The contributor confirms they are a native Lithuanian speaker and have
reviewed the translation. Remove obsolete pending-review labels from the
asset manifest and documentation; regenerate ATTRIBUTION.md. Remove the
redundant generated-message disclaimer from the Lithuanian description,
keeping the existing general localization documentation unchanged.
Validation: cargo xtask ci passed; cargo-deny was skipped because it is
not installed. Catalog content and its SHA-256 are unchanged.

* Lithuanian: cover main's Copy Image labels, list lt last, check its glyphs
Adds the six Copy Image rows from #1363, moves lt to the end of LANGUAGES
and DATE_LANGUAGES (after tr), adds lt.tsv to the primary-font coverage
test, writes the JavaScript preferences path with '>' as the other
catalogs do (Inter has no ▸), and refreshes counts and hashes.

* Copy image: keep the clipboard file in a private per-user folder
Copy Image in Original Format wrote into the shared temporary folder
(/tmp/pdfcraft-clipboard) and deleted everything in it first, so another
user on the machine could plant a link or folder there and have PdfCraft
delete or overwrite their target. The file now goes in PdfCraft's
per-user cache folder (or the portable data folder), which is checked to
be a real folder and set to 0700 on Unix (refused when it isn't ours).
Only earlier copies (regular files named '<stem> p<N> img<M>.jpg|png')
are removed, links are never followed, and the new file is created with
create_new so it can't be redirected.

* fix(sign): refuse to sign a field whose /V is not a signature (#1328) (#1402)
Follow-up to #1374. Signing an existing field refused a field whose /V
is a signature dictionary and signed one whose /V is missing or null,
but a /V that is neither (an empty string, a number, a name, an array)
was treated as unsigned and overwritten with the new signature.
Signing such a field by name now fails with "the value of the field
... is not a signature" and leaves the document as it is. A missing or
null /V, direct or indirect, still signs, and a signed field is still
refused as already signed. The signature list is unchanged: it still
shows such a field as unsigned, since it carries no signature.
Adds a_field_whose_value_is_not_a_signature_is_refused_by_name, which
fails before this change.
* fix(forms): keep a whitespace-only value in a text field without a format (#1323) (#1403)
The commit-time Keystroke check returned an empty value for any
whitespace-only text before looking at the field's format, so setting a
space, a tab or a non-breaking space in a plain text field reported
success and removed the field's value. Text and XFDF imports go through
the same setter and lost the value the same way.
Blank input now clears only a field with a format (number, percent,
date, time, special or mask), as before; a field without one stores the
text as given. An empty value still clears any field.
Adds tests::whitespace_only_text_is_kept_in_a_field_without_a_format
and a keystroke assertion in af::tests::numbers_format_like_acrobat,
both of which fail before this change.
* fix(content): skip an inline image with an unreadable key to its EI (#1318) (#1404)
When a key in an inline image dictionary was not a name (`BI /W 4 H 4
ID ... EI`), the parser ended the image at the end of the stream and
counted nothing as skipped, so every operator after the image was lost:
text_lines found no text on a page whose text follows such an image.
An image whose parameters can't be read is now skipped up to the EI
that ends it, the skipped bytes are counted, and parsing resumes after
it. Without an EI the image still runs to the end of the stream, as
before.
Adds tests::an_unreadable_inline_image_is_skipped_to_its_end, which
fails before this change.
* fix(automation): doc_save reports a required full rewrite as not incremental (#1329) (#1405)
doc_save reported "incremental": !full, from the arguments alone. When
an in-place save had to be a full rewrite (after doc_protect adds or
removes encryption, or after Sanitize), write_incremental fell back to
write_full, but the result still said the save was incremental.
The result now says whether the written file starts with the file it
was saved over, read from the new Document::saved_bytes. An ordinary
in-place save still reports true and an explicit full save false.
Adds an_in_place_save_reports_a_required_rewrite_as_not_incremental,
which fails before this change for both doc_protect and
doc_remove_hidden.
* fix(audit): an identity cm between re and fill no longer hides a cover (#1333) (#1410)

Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* fix(ui): Current page prints the viewed page, not a page labelled with its number (#1308) (#1411)
The Print dialog turned Current page into the range "N" for the page on
screen, and ranges read numbers as page labels first. In a document
labelled i, ii, iii, 1, 2, viewing the first page printed the fourth,
whose label is "1".
Current page is now passed as a position, the way Selected pages is,
through print::select_listed. A typed range still reads labels first.
Adds print_ui::tests::current_page_is_the_viewed_page_not_a_label,
which fails before this change.
* fix(render): draw Turkish Ğ İ Ş ğ ş in non-embedded fonts (vendored hayro-interpret patch 26) (#1409)
A PDF whose fonts aren't embedded is drawn with PDFium's Foxit stand-ins
for the standard 14 fonts. Those carry only the 230-odd glyphs of the
Standard, WinAnsi and Mac Roman encodings, so a letter a font names beyond
them in its /Differences mapped to .notdef and drew nothing. iText 2
writes Turkish exactly this way (Times New Roman left unembedded,
/Gbreve /Idotaccent /Scedilla /gbreve /scedilla over Ð Ý Þ ð þ), and such
letters showed blanks for Ğ, İ, Ş, ğ and ş while ı, ç, ö and ü drew.
StandardKind now builds a Latin Extended-A letter the stand-in lacks from
the base letter and accent it does have, as Type 1 seac composites and
the standard-14 AFM composites are built: the accent is centred on the
letter, raised over capitals and letters with ascenders (and moved along
the slant in italics), cedillas hang below and ogoneks from the right
edge. Composite glyph ids sit above any font's glyph count, one per
character code; their width comes from the standard metrics of the name.
Test: raster::tests::accented_letters_the_standard_stand_ins_lack_are_built_from_their_parts
(fails without the patch: Gbreve drew no pixel).

* M10: edit OCR text on scanned pages so the change shows (#1397)
* M10: edit OCR text on scanned pages so the change shows
Editing a recognised word on a scan rewrote it as invisible OCR text, so
the page still showed the old word, and the whole OCR layer grouped into
one paragraph that rewrapped when one word changed.
- An edited invisible paragraph is drawn visibly, over a cover in the
paper colour sampled around it, in the scan's sampled ink colour
(or the chosen colour).
- OCR words group into phrases: a table cell or a tab stop splits them
and each scanned line stays apart; a phrase grows rightwards.
- Styled rewrites measure with the text matrix's horizontal scale, so
stretched OCR words keep their widths instead of overlapping.
- The inline editor covers the scanned word and grows like the result.
* M10: size OCR text from each word's letters
A word box from recognition is tight around the ink, but the text layer
assumed every box spans Helvetica's ascender-descender height. A
capitals-only word such as "DT" spans only the cap height, so its text
was set about 23% too small and its baseline floated up; editing it
then drew the new word visibly smaller than the scanned one.
The em and baseline now come from the word's letters: cap height or
x-height on top, descender or baseline at the bottom. On a real scanned
form, a rewritten "DT" -> "DSI" now matches the scanned word's height
and baseline. The engine OCR-edit tests build their words the way a scan
would box them.
* Edit OCR text: sample colours only for invisible blocks, from the current bytes
Session::apply looked up every edited block with a fresh text_blocks pass and
re-serialized the whole document to render the sampling tile. Text blocks are
now cached per page on the editor (keyed on the unmodified document's source
identity, so any edit, undo or save invalidates them), visible blocks skip
sampling entirely, and the tile renders from the document's current bytes.
Adds a visible stretched-text regression test and documents that editing any
invisible text makes it visible over a painted cover.

* Edit text: support per-font visual-order Indic text and nukta reordering (#1380)
* Edit text: support per-font visual-order Indic text and nukta reordering
- Detect legacy visual-order Indic fonts via Metrics.visual_order (fonts with
Indic codepoints without OpenType GSUB tables, or legacy visual font names).
- Implement Indic visual-to-logical and logical-to-visual pre-base vowel
reordering in crates/edit/src/indic.rs, with support for decomposed/precomposed
nuktas and conjuncts.
- Apply reordering during extraction and source font reuse only when visual_order
is set, leaving modern logical-order text untouched.
- Add unit tests for nuktas, conjuncts, and round-trips in crates/edit/src/indic.rs
and font visual_order tests in crates/edit/src/tests.rs.
* Visual-order Indic: positive evidence only, ActualText kept logical, no font decoding
- A font is visual order only when it is a known legacy Indic family (subset tag
allowed; aps-/dv- as prefixes) with an Indic Unicode mapping. A missing GSUB is
no evidence (bare CFF and subset fonts drop it), so Metrics::from_dict no longer
decodes every embedded font program on every call.
- Lines with /ActualText text are already logical: skip indic::to_logical, so
"बढ़िया" no longer becomes "बढ़यिा".
- reading_lines no longer runs bidi recovery on every line (it changed RTL
reading_blocks output for all documents); only the Indic recovery remains.
- indic.rs indexes through get().
- Tests use a ToUnicode fixture (not visual-order ActualText), cover an edit
round-trip, logical ActualText in a legacy font, and a subset Noto font.
