Security-sweep findings from the scan at revision ac8da7d4 (storytold-
gridcraft-agent-findings.json), no longer exploitable on main at 72c1d57d.
Each change caps work or storage per sheet/part so a hostile file cannot buy
unbounded work with ordinary bytes; each has a regression test:
- finding 2 (package.rs): a part rejected by the MAX_PART size gate is
charged its declared compressed size up front, so a loop of oversized
parts still ends the allowance instead of re-entering the package.
- finding 4 (xml.rs): elements past the kept-node cap are consumed and
dropped instead of kept — parse cost stays linear, memory stops growing
with the same input (a small compressed workbook previously asked for
gigabytes of declared-sized metadata tree).
- finding 10 (records.rs): .remaining() caches the suffix of a shared
string's Continue parts, so crossing N Continue records is O(N) instead
of O(N^2) in records scanned per character.
- finding 9 (xls shared formulas): the SHRFMLA master template is parsed
once and re-emitted per dependent cell instead of decoded and reprinted
for every referencing cell.
- findings 3, 6, 8 (sheet_read.rs): hyperlink-cell expansion, conditional-
format kept range cells and dynamic-array (deleted-spill) checks are
capped with one import warning each instead of the compact-workbook
multi-gigabyte allocation or the scanned-per-cell cost.
- finding 31 (core/parse.rs): datetime recognition no longer reparses a
prefix at every space with a time-shaped tail; an all-digit field length
is gated before the derivation machinery runs, staying linear in the
text.

- PMT: take rate / m first so (pv + fv) / m can't overflow for a tiny rate (PMT(1e-300,10,1e12)).
- Keytips probe: an empty params object keys like no params.
- Number Stored as Text check reads the same accounting parentheses as typed entry.
- Lookups: a NaN number falls back to the general comparison instead of comparing equal.

Typed entry, VALUE and arithmetic now read $(1,234), $ (5) and (5)% as
negative numbers, as Excel 365 does. Parentheses no longer nest: (-5),
((5)), $5% and dates in parentheses stay text. This changes main's
((100)) from 100 to text; the no-recursion guard from #2180 is kept and
its test now asserts the new result.
- Text coercion: digits too many for a finite number are not a number,
and a fraction must come out finite, so "1 <400 digits>/<400 digits>"
(inf/inf) no longer coerces to NaN (test overlong_digits_stay_text).
- VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP and the D-functions' field index refuse NaN, which
passed their "< 1" checks and became index 0, then underflowed
(test nan_index_is_a_value_error; hostile_inputs_never_panic now also
passes NaN and infinity to every function).
- REGEXREPLACE replaces match by match and gives up once the result can
only be too long, instead of building every replacement first: the
32,767 x 32,767 worst case went from 1.05 GB peak to 7 MB
(test regexreplace_bounds_its_result).
#2165 (MAP's size check) is already fixed on main by the broadcast cap
(836b2698, #2182), whose test covers MAP.
Also adds my contributors/people.toml entry.

Parenthesised negatives were parsed by recursing once per level, so runtime
text such as REPT("(",32767)&"1"&REPT(")",32767) overflowed the stack. Strip
the parentheses in a loop, toggling the sign per level; results are unchanged.

Numbers stored as text are skipped by SUM and friends, and GridCraft gave
no hint. Like Excel's background error checking, a constant whose text
would be a number if typed now gets a green triangle in its top-left
corner; with such a cell active, a warning button beside it opens a menu
naming the problem with Convert to Number, which converts every flagged
cell in the selection as one undo step.
- core: `parse::number_stored_as_text` (signs, thousands separators,
currency, percent, exponent, one parenthesised negative). Dates, times
and fractions kept as text are not flagged, as in Excel.
- engine: `cmd::formulas::number_stored_as_text(cell)` (constants only,
not formula results) and `formulas.convertToNumber {range?}`, which
keeps each cell's format.
- ui: the triangle in the grid and the warning button with its menu;
pt-BR and German strings.

Excel 365 reads a dollar sign before accounting parentheses ($(1,234),
$ (5)) and a percent sign after them ((5)%) as negative numbers when the
text is typed, coerced by arithmetic or passed to VALUE. GridCraft gave
#VALUE! for these.
The parentheses branch no longer recurses: Excel reads only an unsigned
plain number or fraction inside, so (-5), ((5)), ($-5), and dates or
times in parentheses are now #VALUE! as in Excel (they used to give 5
or a negative serial). $5% is #VALUE! too: Excel never combines the
currency and percent signs.

Typing 25:00 or 36:30:15 gave the right value but the h:mm format, so
the cell showed 1:00 and 12:30:15. Excel formats such entries as
[h]:mm:ss (25:00:00).
7/4/1776 was entered as 7/4/3676 and DATEVALUE("12/31/1899") gave
693962: the text parser built dates with DATE()'s rule that adds 1900 to
years below 1900. Excel keeps such entries as text, and DATEVALUE gives
#VALUE!.
Every edit goes through cmd::commit, which read std::time::Instant::now()
up front for GRIDCRAFT_PROFILE timing, whether profiling was on or not.
wasm32-unknown-unknown has no clock: Instant::now panics there, and with
panic=abort the browser reports `RuntimeError: unreachable`. So in the
web app, typing 1 into A1 and pressing Enter trapped (#118). The native
apps and the CLI have a clock and were unaffected.
commit now reads the clock only when GRIDCRAFT_PROFILE is set, and
never on wasm. The other clock reads (NOW(), the current year for typed
dates, the UI's frame timer) already skip wasm.
Native tests can't see this trap, so clippy.toml now disallows
Instant::now and SystemTime::now. A clock read has to be gated off wasm
and allowed at the call, and `cargo clippy -D warnings` fails on the old
commit code. The existing, already-gated reads and the native-only perf
example allow it.
Checked by building the engine for wasm32-unknown-unknown into a small
cdylib that runs cell.set A1=1 on a new workbook, and running it in
Node: before the fix it traps with `RuntimeError: unreachable`, after
it returns normally.

serial_from_ymd worked out the real calendar date and then moved serials
up to 60 down by one. February 1900 has no 29th in the real calendar, so
DATE(1900,2,29) and DATEVALUE("2/29/1900") rolled over to 1 March (61),
and DATE(1900,3,0) gave 28 February (59). Excel's 1900 system keeps the
Lotus leap day: serial 60 is 29 February 1900, and DAY(60) already
said so.
The serial of the first of the month is now taken in Excel's calendar
(one lower up to February 1900), and the day, with any overflow, counts
on from there. So day and month overflow pass through serial 60 both
ways: DATE(1900,1,60), DATE(1900,4,-31) and DATE(1901,-10,29) are 60 too.
Month and day arithmetic is checked, so hostile values return None.
days_in_month_in gives February 1900 29 days in the 1900 system; EDATE
and EOMONTH use it, so EOMONTH(60,0) is 60 rather than the day before,
and the text parser uses it in place of its own special case. The 1904
system is unchanged (1900 is before its epoch).
Tests: serials around the leap day (overflow both ways, every serial
0-366 round-trips through its year, month and day), hostile months and
days, parsing 2/29/1900 and 1900-02-29, DATE/DATEVALUE/EDATE/EOMONTH
in the 1900 system and the 1904 system. The DATE, DATEVALUE and serial
cases fail before the fix.
