Undo kept up to 500 steps whatever their size. Steps share what an edit didn't touch, so most
are small, but a deck-wide edit (slide size, theme, find-and-replace style changes) keeps a copy
of every slide: 500 of those on a big deck could hold hundreds of copies. Each step's cost is now
estimated when it is pushed (the slides, masters and media it doesn't share with the document
after it), and the oldest steps are dropped while the total passes History::byte_limit
(UNDO_BYTE_BUDGET, 256 MiB, by default). The newest step always stays.

Preserve the open master or layout, and turn its title and footer
placeholders on or off. Each change is one undo step, and a value that
is already set is not.

Copy puts HTML on the pasteboard with the same plain words, so Pages keeps
bold, italic and underline, and a paste of that HTML keeps them here. A
shape with no text copies out as a picture.

design.effects replaces the theme's format scheme (fills, lines and
effects) with DeckCraft, Soft, Crisp, Lift, Glow or Plain. Colours and
fonts stay. The scheme already in use is not an undo step.

The Fill slider seeded itself at 0% and wrote that when it lost focus, so a
solid fill that was already transparent opened as opaque and could be cleared.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Outline view built every slide's title and text editors each frame, so a 2000-slide deck took
about 40 ms a frame in a release build (more with real text). Slides outside the view (with a
margin) now take their last measured height, estimated from their line count until first
shown; the current slide is always laid out so its editor keeps the focus.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
A picture background can set transparency, tile, offset, scale,
alignment and mirror. A solid fill can set transparency. Apply to All
copies the current slide's background, including a picture, onto every
slide. Unchanged options are not an undo step.

Trim Media opened at zero for start, end and both fades, so OK
cleared a clip that was already trimmed. The fields now start from
the selected audio or video.

Design › Fonts › Customize Fonts… opens Create New Theme Fonts.
Empty design.fonts params open the dialog; a name and heading or body
faces apply to the open master in one undo.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Insert Hyperlink opened on https:// with an empty ScreenTip, so OK
replaced a web address, email, slide link or tip. The dialog now
starts from the link it would edit, and leaves actions it cannot
edit in place.
A default export is 2 pixels per point. Without a resolution, Preview
treats those pixels as 72 dpi and the picture opens at twice the slide's
size. PNG pHYs and JPEG JFIF density now say scale times 72, so the
default is 144 dpi. Screenshots stay untagged.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Design › Colors › Customize Colors… opens the dialog when design.colors
is called with no name and no colours. Save applies that scheme name and
the twelve theme colours together, as one undo.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
The renderer caps a picture at MAX_SIDE (16,000 px) by clipping, so an image export whose
slide × scale passed that (4× of a 4032 pt slide) came out cropped. file.export and file.render
now lower the scale to fit (cmd::file::image_scale). When exporting every slide and one file
can't be written, the error says which slides already were, and slide numbers are checked
before anything is written.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
The dialog always opened with Mark as decorative unchecked, so OK
cleared a shape that was already decorative. It now starts checked
when every selected shape is.
The Slide Show checkbox wrote nothing. show.setup now stores
showMediaControls, and the show draws the playback bar and GIF button
only while that setting is on.
macOS delivers a trackpad rotation as egui's Rotate event. While the
pointer is over the canvas, that twist turns the selected shapes, and
the whole gesture is one undo step. Pinch-zoom and scrolling are unchanged.

serde_json writes NaN and infinity as null, which doesn't read back as a number, so one NaN
anywhere in the model (a rotation, position, crop, stroke width…) made the saved file (and its
AutoRecover copy) fail to open as "damaged".
- Writer: presentation.json goes through finite::Finite, a serializer adapter that writes
non-finite floats as 0.
- Loader: files already written that way open; each null where a number belongs reads as 0
(inside tagged enums, where serde only reports the enclosing object, candidates are tried
nearest first and kept only when the parse gets further). Other damage still fails.
- repair() brings shape geometry into range: positions and sizes finite and within ±1e6 pt,
rotation 0–360, picture crop -10..1, font sizes 1–4000 pt, line widths 0–1584 pt.
Animation timings are u32 and can't carry NaN.

Insert › Date & Time opens the format list instead of placing a date
immediately. With no format, update flag or language, insert.dateTime
opens the dialog and does not edit. OK applies one undo: a field when
Update automatically is on, or the shown text when it is off.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
repair() brings each slide side into PowerPoint's 72–4032 pt (as Design › Slide Size allows;
it accepted 1–4000 before), and replaces a zero, negative or non-finite size with 16:9; a bad
notes size gets the default. The native reader takes a null, string or missing slide/notes
size as NaN for repair to fix, so such a file opens instead of failing as damaged (NaN and
infinity are saved as null). The canvas fit and slide show fit treat a zero or non-finite side
as 1 pt, so an in-memory bad size can't make layout infinite.

DeckCraft forces X11 whenever DISPLAY is set. A stale DISPLAY (an ended ssh -X session, or
Xwayland turned off) made start-up fail with "failed to open display" while a Wayland
compositor was running. A local DISPLAY whose /tmp/.X11-unix socket is missing now starts on
Wayland when WAYLAND_DISPLAY is set; remote displays and live servers keep X11. Forcing Wayland
without a compositor keeps X11, and with no display at all the error says so plainly.

Reopen the Photo Album dialog on the current album and replace those slides
in one undo, with black and white, rotation, brightness, contrast and a theme.

The Next preview took the column's full width and the slide's aspect for its height, so a
portrait slide (up to 1:56) drew a white slab many times the window's height over the notes,
which were pushed below the window. It is now fitted into the top 60% of the column; 16:9
slides keep the full width as before.

Slide show, transition and morph frames, thumbnails, master-view canvas, master/layout
thumbnails, Design Ideas previews, presenter-view preview and video frames all upload through
textures::upload/replace, which shrinks a picture past max_texture_side (egui panicked on one).
Render sizes are fitted to the limit first, so a big screen, extreme DPI or a 1:56 slide
doesn't render a picture the GPU can't hold. The master canvas is cropped like the slide canvas.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
During a show, G opens a thumbnail grid and a click jumps to that slide.
Z then a click zooms the slide to 2×. Presenter view has Black, White,
All slides and Zoom. Esc closes the grid, then the zoom, before it leaves.
A sideways flick changes slides when the slide fits the window, and any
flick does so during the show. One gesture turns one page. A zoomed slide
still pans. Pinch-zoom is unchanged.

Insert › Images opens Photo Album. insert.photoAlbum adds the pictures
and text boxes as slides in the open presentation, one undo step, with
layouts, frames and captions. Omitting pictures opens the dialog.

- ui.json / prefs.json are read through a new settings module: regular files only, 4 MiB
cap, parse errors logged, values sanitized (a saved zoom of 1e30 aborted start-up,
1e4 panicked in egui); writes are atomic.
- The canvas and the control protocol clamp stray zooms; the status bar shows the zoom in use.
- The canvas texture is cut to the GPU's max texture side (zoom 400% on a 2048 limit panicked).
- The system font scan opens only regular files of sane size (a FIFO named *.ttf in ~/.fonts
hung start-up), with depth and entry caps.
- AutoRecover skips non-regular entries and reopens at most 32 per start, newest first.

Shape Format › Size and the shape menu open a dialog for position,
size, rotation, scale and lock aspect ratio. One command writes them
together, so undo restores the whole change.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
format.paragraphDialog applies alignment, first-line and hanging
indents, spacing and line spacing in one undo step. With no fields it
opens the dialog from the Home › Paragraph launcher. Tabs… opens a
standalone Tabs dialog and returns to Paragraph.

EmfPlusClear paints the whole picture frame in its colour, ignoring the
world transform and clip, as GDI+ does; a transparent clear draws nothing.
With it every drawing record of MS-EMFPLUS 2.3.4 is played. The module docs
list what is deliberately ignored (rendering hints, rendering origin,
serializable image effects, terminal-server records, and StrokeFillPath,
which the specification names but gives no layout for), and the parity docs
no longer say EMF+ isn't drawn.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
DrawCurve, DrawClosedCurve and FillClosedCurve (GDI+ cardinal splines, the
smoothed lines of charts and freehand shapes) draw as cubic Béziers with
the record's tension, offset and segment count; FillRegion fills the region
object's area. These records were skipped, so the shapes were missing.

format.fontDialog applies family, size, bold, italic, underline, colour,
strikethrough, baseline, caps and spacing together, so one undo restores
them. With no fields it asks the UI to open the dialog, seeded from the
selection. Home › Font, the shape menu and Cmd+T open it.

Home > Paragraph gets a Convert to SmartArt button whose menu lists every layout by category (List, Process, Cycle, Hierarchy, Relationship, Matrix, Pyramid, Picture); a click converts the selected text. Convert to Text sets the text box's titles and bullets to the sizes the graphic showed them at. Icon toggles carry their tooltip as their accessible name.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Insert › Icons places seventy Lucide 1.56.0 stroke icons as custom
geometry: no fill, round caps, and a line width scaled from the
24-unit design. The gallery searches by name. SVG paths, including
arcs, are converted when the icon is inserted so the renderer strokes
the outline.

Name and Title Organization Chart with a title box per node (DiagramNode.title, smartArt.setNodes title; written as the title box's presentation point text and read back). Half Circle Org Chart draws two half rings per node. New layouts: Vertical Box List, Trapezoid List, Table List, Accent Process, Continuous Block Process, Basic Bending Process, Linear Venn, Stacked Venn, Nested Target. smartArt.fromText (Convert to SmartArt), smartArt.toText and smartArt.toShapes, with a Convert menu in SmartArt Design.

Organization Chart and Half Circle Organization Chart with elbow connectors; assistant nodes (Add Assistant, written as asst points and read back) sit beside their parent on a row of their own. Segmented Cycle, Multidirectional Cycle, Cycle Matrix, Segmented Pyramid and Basic Pie. Venn labels move further out so the third circle's no longer runs into the overlap.

animation.add stored any `option` string as given, and the renderer reads
direction codes letter by letter, so "fromBottom" (r, t, b) flew in from the
bottom right. The option is now checked against the effect's list; direction
words ("fromBottom", "topLeft", "upRight") map to the stored codes ("b", "lt",
"ru"), and anything else is an error listing the valid options.
animation.options applies the option to each target in its own effect's terms
and leaves targets without such an option alone.

The preedit was already stored in the cell. It is now laid out the same
way the cell is drawn, and the editor underlines it in place, thicker
under the part being converted. The caret and the input method's
candidate window sit in that cell. Notes stay an egui text field.

Text Cycle, Continuous Cycle, Horizontal Hierarchy, Grid Matrix, Gear and Funnel. Venn labels sit further out, clear of the overlaps. Files where Picture Accent Process was written as pList2 (with DeckCraft's process-category layout part) import as Picture Accent Process again. Round shapes' text shrinks to the inscribed width.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Node pictures are written on the data model's presentation points (blip through the data part's rels) and read back into the outline on import. Picture Accent Process is hProcess10, not pList2 (checked against PowerPoint's layout list); pList2 is now Horizontal Picture List. Brick Scene looks through an isometric camera. New layouts: Horizontal Picture List, Basic Timeline, Basic Venn, Basic Target.

Each shape's text shrinks so its longest word fits on a line (the pyramid tip no longer breaks words). Three picture layouts (Vertical Picture List, Picture Caption List, Picture Accent Process) with a picture placeholder per node and smartArt.picture to fill it. Five 3-D SmartArt Styles (Polished, Inset, Cartoon, Powder, Brick Scene) drawn with lit bevels, and Colorful Range and Gradient Range colours; all written to and read from the .pptx quickStyle and colors parts.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
A pen reading of 1 is the full pen width. A lighter touch draws a thinner
stroke, and a zero reading stays visible at 8% of the pen. A mouse, a
missing or non-finite reading, and a stroke whose samples are all the old
placeholder 0.5 still draw at the pen width. PPTX keeps one width per
stroke: the mean of the samples for a pressured stroke, the pen width for
a legacy one. Tilt is not read.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Inset each pyramid band's text past the band's mid width so bullets no longer hang over the sloped sides; capped so the tip band still has room.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Layouts now include Vertical and Horizontal Bullet List, Basic Block List,
Basic/Chevron/Vertical/Step Up Process, Basic and Block Cycle, Basic Radial,
Basic and Inverted Pyramid (bands drawn as polygons so the slope and the
text stay right), Basic and Titled Matrix, and Hierarchy. Each layout says
which nodes each shape shows, so typed text maps back for any layout.
SmartArt Styles (flat, subtle, intense, white outline) and Change Colors
(colourful or one accent) are kept on the diagram, offered in the SmartArt
Design tab, and written to .pptx as quick style / colour definition ids
(and read back from them).
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Radar and filled radar charts are drawn polar: spokes per category,
polygon gridlines and value labels up the first spoke. Stock charts
draw high-low lines with close dashes, or up/down bars between open
and close, and are saved as c:stockChart (hiLowLines, upDownBars)
instead of a line chart; c:upDownBars is read, and chart.options takes
upDownBars. New stock charts start as high-low-close and new combo
charts as columns with a line.

Export: a group with a diagram becomes a graphicFrame naming ppt/diagrams
data, layout, quickStyle and colors parts, plus the group's shapes as the
cached drawing (dsp). The data model is built from the outline (doc, node,
parTrans/sibTrans points and parOf links). A diagram read from a file keeps
its own layout, quick style and colour parts until its layout is switched.
Import: the outline is rebuilt from the data model's parOf tree, so
PowerPoint diagrams get the Text Pane. Their shapes stay the file's drawing
until the first outline edit (typed text isn't mapped back to nodes then).
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Read the regionMap chartEx layout as a RegionMap chart (regions and
their colour values), write the part back as read while unchanged, and
when edited rebuild it with the original geography (projection, culture
and cached boundaries) carried over. With no map data in the repo, the
renderer draws each region as a value-coloured tile with a colour scale
and a note that the map itself is not drawn.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
A SmartArt group now keeps its outline (Shape.diagram: layout + nodes with
levels) and its shapes are regenerated from it inside the group's child
rectangle. New commands: smartArt.nodes, setNodes, addNode (after, before,
above, below), removeNode, promote, demote and layout. Sub-points become
bullets in their parent's shape; the hierarchy layout is a real tree with
connector lines. Text typed into a diagram shape is read back first.
UI: a SmartArt Design contextual tab and a Text Pane (Enter adds a line,
Tab/Shift+Tab demote/promote, Backspace on an empty line removes it).
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
sp3d extrusionH (with extrusionClr, srgb or scheme) under a camera that
turns the shape now draws the shape's sides: its outline swept from the
back face to the front along the camera's view of the depth axis, in the
side colour shaded, before the face. camera::project3 projects points
off the shape's plane.
Read, keep and write every cx:lvl of a chartEx category dimension,
build a category tree from runs of parent labels, and draw treemaps as
nested squarified groups with banners and sunbursts as one ring per
level. Box & whisker honours quartileMethod="inclusive" (QUARTILE.INC)
on import, render, save and the chart.options command.

File › New and the start screen offer Briefing, Lesson, Pitch, Field Notes,
Quarterly and Evening Talk. Each is a few slides of our own text on one of
our themes. file.new takes template, and file.templates lists them. Passing
a theme as well, or blank, is refused. PowerPoint's large gallery is still
open.

pdf::master_text_pieces turns the text engine's layout of the notes
master's header, date, footer and page number into per-run, per-line
pieces scaled to the page; the Notes Page view paints them in their
sizes and colours. Stacked on #583.
Histograms and Paretos bin their observations (bin count, bin width or
Scott's rule) and draw as touching columns, a Pareto with its cumulative
line on a percentage axis. Box and whisker charts draw exclusive-quartile
boxes, 1.5 IQR whiskers, means and outliers per category group.
Edited and new Office 2016 charts are written as chartEx parts from the
model (with the plain-chart fallback), so a waterfall stays a waterfall.
The chart menus list all seven types, and chart.options sets bins and
waterfall totals.

An owned corpus slice checks combo charts with data labels, merged
tables with diagonal borders, and text columns, autofit, vertical text
and a WordArt warp. Trendlines (type, order, period, forecast,
intercept, equation and R²) are now read and written.
New owned corpus test on PowerPoint-shaped XML: a custom-theme deck with
shadow, glow, soft-edge and reflection effects and every common text and
shape hyperlink, and a two-master deck with its own themes and layouts.
The one loss it found: a:hlinkMouseOver on text runs was dropped; it is
now read into RunProps::hover and written back.
Arcs and pies; clip paths and regions clip to their convex outline instead
of the bounding rectangle; DrawString wraps to the layout width; glyph-index
driver strings in the Windows core fonts map back to text; metafile images
draw their nested picture.

Notes pages and handouts lay out the master's header, date, footer and
page-number placeholders with deckcraft-text (render::place_master_texts),
so their text wraps in the placeholder and keeps mixed run formatting,
drawn as visible glyphs. Stacked on #580.
Builds on the EMF+ only reader: bitmap images (raw pixel formats and
compressed PNG/JPEG payloads) through DrawImage and DrawImagePoints,
DrawString and character-code DrawDriverString, hatch, texture, linear and
path gradient brushes, clip rectangles, paths and regions, and objects
split across several records.
