Window › Symbol Libraries and the Symbols panel's Symbol Libraries Menu open each symbol library
in a library panel of its own, on the shared library panel code the swatch and graphic style
libraries use (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/desktop/manage-objects/traces-mockups-symbols/create-or-import-symbol-libraries.html,
.../symbols-panel-options.html, .../create-and-place-symbols.html).
- Basic Shapes: one original library generated in code (circle, squares, triangle, diamond,
hexagon, star, burst, arrow); no other app's libraries.
- A click adds a library symbol to the document's Symbols as one undo step, with its Symbol
Options and the resources it uses (nested symbols, patterns, swatches, brushes, graphic styles,
images), and makes it the current symbol; one already there isn't added again, a clash of
names numbers the library's. Shift/Cmd-clicks select for Add to Symbols. Dragging a library
symbol onto the canvas adds it and places an instance there, in the same step.
- Save Symbols… (library menu, Window menu) and Save Symbol Library… (Symbols panel menu) write
the document's symbols as a .vectorcraft document holding only them, into the user library
folder (User Defined, window.userSymbolLibrary1-10) or a file; Other Library… reads the symbols
of any document VectorCraft opens, and a file it can't read is an error.
Commands: symbol.libraries, symbol.library, symbol.addFromLibrary (place, x, y),
symbol.saveLibrary, symbol.loadLibrary; UI: window.symbolLibrary (.other), ui.saveSymbolLibrary
(dialog saveSymbolLibrary). i18n rows in every complete catalog; docs updated.
Distance Guides, from the public "Use Distance Guides for accurate
placement" and "Smart Guides options" (Invoke Distance Guides) pages:
with Smart Guides on, something selected and the Selection tool,
holding Alt/Option over another object shows the horizontal and
vertical distances between the selection and it, and over an empty
part of an artboard the selection's distances from the artboard's left,
right, top and bottom edges.
- guides::distance_guides measures the selection's bounds to a box: on
an axis on which they lie apart, the gap between their facing edges;
otherwise the offsets of both pairs of matching edges. Each line runs
across the middle of the overlap on the other axis (else the
selection's middle), with a dashed line out to the target's edge when
it passes beside it. An artboard is always measured edge to edge.
Labels are in the General unit, in the smart guide colour.
- The Selection tool keeps what its Alt hover points at and draws the
guides while idle; letting Alt go (the canvas re-hovers on a modifier
change), a press or moving off clears them.
- Overlay::Distance: the line with end ticks and its length in a pill;
the canvas draws it.
- Preferences › Smart Guides › Invoke Distance Guides (`distanceGuides`,
on by default), with i18n rows; View › Smart Guides gates it too.
- Hover only, as the pages describe: nothing while moving or nudging.
Tests: select::tests::alt_over_* (gap and edges beside and below,
artboard edges in pt and mm), distance_guides_need_alt_a_selection_and_
smart_guides, tests_prefs::invoke_distance_guides_measures_the_selection_
to_the_object_under_alt, canvas::tests::alt_over_another_object_draws_
the_distance_guide_label (frame test of the drawn label and line).
Review follow-up (#3785, CodeRabbit): commands in SELECTS_GIVEN_IDS run select.set with the given ids before their body; when the body then returned an ordinary error, the ids stayed selected (and their layer current), while a panic restored the selection and refused ids never changed it. The dispatcher now keeps the active document's selection and current layer from before select.set and restores them when the body errors. This affects every command in SELECTS_GIVEN_IDS (Duplicate, Arrange, Clipping Mask, Compound Path, Group/Ungroup, Hide, Lock, Move, the Pathfinder panel commands including Trap, and the transforms). Tests: Trap with ids whose edges don't meet, and Intersect with ids of shapes that don't overlap, leave the selection as it was.
The Pathfinder panel menu's Trap… (object.pathfinder.trap) and Effect › Pathfinder › Trap… (pathfinder.trap, live on groups) share one geometry (vectorcraft_pathops::trap_band, vectorcraft_effects::trap): Thickness, Height/Width, Tint Reduction, Traps with Process Color and Reverse Traps, plus the effect's Precision and Remove Redundant Points. The panel's Trap is one undo step and groups the traps above the topmost selected object. Behaviour from https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/trapping.html and https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/pathfinder-panel-overview.html.
The Simplify help page says a path can be simplified whole or "a specific
path region with the Direct Selection tool"
Simplify refitted every selected path whole, whatever part of it was
direct-selected.
object.path.simplify now looks at each path's direct selection: the
segments picked as segments, or else every segment with both anchors
selected. Each run of consecutive selected segments is refitted on its own
(vectorcraft_pathops::simplify_part) between its two end anchors, which stay
where they are with their handles on the side away from the run; every
other anchor and segment stays exactly as it was. A closed path's run may
cross its start point (the path then starts at the run's end anchor),
separate runs on one path simplify independently in one undo step, and the
runs stay direct-selected (as segments when segments were picked). A path
with only lone anchors selected still simplifies whole, as before, and
wholePaths: true simplifies partly selected paths whole. The slider, its
preview, Auto-Simplify and the Simplify dialog all run the command, so
they act on the part too. simplify_with now shares its run fitting with
the part refit (same results).
Verification: crates/engine/src/tests_simplify_part.rs (unselected anchors
and segments equal bit for bit, run end anchors fixed, the run within the
tolerance, two runs equal to each simplified alone in one undo step, a
closed run across the start point, picked segments, wholePaths, slider
preview and Auto-Simplify, a run that can't be simpler records no step)
and simplify_slider_and_dialog_simplify_only_the_direct_selected_part_of_a_path
(the slider's preview, Enter and the dialog's OK). Live: the release build's
slider at level 20 on a 91-anchor wave with anchors 30–60 selected refits
only that stretch.
A file opened or placed off the UI thread waited while the active tool
reported busy. The Dimension tool also reports busy between its clicks,
so after one click a ready file stayed queued with its spinner until
the dimension was finished or canceled. Files also waited between the
clicks of the Blend tool.
The session now records whether the pointer button is held. A file
waits for a busy tool only while the button is held. A file that
opens between a tool's clicks resets the tool, as a switch of
documents does; a file placed in the active document leaves the
tool's clicks in place. Files still wait while a dialog is open, a
drag is under way or a preview is open, and a tool's preview between
its clicks counts as one (the Flare tool after its center drag, the
Dimension tool's line once the pointer moves after its second click).
The Simplify help page says the slider starts at an auto-simplified value
(https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/desktop/draw-shapes-and-paths/modify-paths/manually-simplify-paths.html).
The slider opened at a fixed level 50 (1 pt), whatever the size of the
selection, so the first preview was the same tolerance for a 30 pt icon as
for a 1000 pt drawing.
The level Auto-Simplify picks for the selection is now one engine function,
vectorcraft_engine::auto_simplify_level (the existing 1/400-of-the-longer-
side rule in vectorcraft_pathops), which object.path.simplify {auto: true}
and the slider's opening fields both use. Object › Path › Simplify (and
ui.menuDialog, the Properties and contextual task bar buttons, which go
through the same menu dialog) opens the slider there, and the canvas
previews that result; Auto-Simplify still moves the slider back to it.
The retained Simplify dialog path is unchanged.
Verification: simplify_slider_opens_at_the_auto_simplify_level_of_the_selection
opens the slider on 1140, 285 and 28.5 pt waves (levels 35, 55, 89) and
checks the preview is exactly object.path.simplify {auto: true}'s result;
without the change it fails with level 50 != 35, and
simplify_opens_a_slider_whose_drag_previews_fewer_or_more_points fails with
{"level": 50} != {"level": 55}. cargo xtask ci: all 10 steps passed.
Export for Screens and the Asset Export panel's Export encoded and wrote
every file on the UI thread, so the window stopped responding until the
last file was written. For 50 artboards in PNG at 1x, 2x and 3x, PDF and
SVG (250 files, 47 MiB), the dialog's OK took a median of 43.8 s in a
release build on Windows.
With Enable Background Export on (Preferences › File Handling), OK now
checks the settings, remembers them and takes a snapshot of the
document, and the dialog closes. The thread that writes background
saves and exports then encodes the files and writes them into the
folder, or one ZIP in it, and the export progress dialog's Cancel stops
it before the next file. The same OK takes under 0.001 s, and the files
have the same names and bytes. With the preference off, without a
folder, on the web and over MCP and scripts (document.exportForScreens
and assets.export), the files are made at once with the same reply as
before.
Both commands report one progress step per file, so the progress dialog
shows "File 3 of 250" and MCP progress notifications count the files in
place of the encoders' artboards and pages.

A filter plug-in gets 50 M instructions and a minute for each run.
Filters that order a plotter's paths, pack shapes or run a simulation
need minutes, and the app shouldn't freeze while they compute.
A filter's manifest may now ask for "budget": "heavy" (Budget): each run
gets HEAVY_FUEL (1 G instructions) and HEAVY_WALL_TIME_MS (300 s). Only a
filter may ask. plugin.install refuses such a filter without allowHeavy:
true, and plugin.inspect returns the entry a module would have without
installing it. Install Plug-in… and File › Open ask the user and install
on OK; the plug-in store keeps the answer, and folder loads skip heavy
filters with a note, since they ask nobody.
The app runs a heavy filter on a thread of its own (plugin_runs), not in
Background Save's queue, with the status bar and a progress window
(Cancel, Continue in Background) that it shares with Background Export
(export_progress::window). FilterRun splits plugin.run: prepared on the
session, run on any thread, its output handed in, and the next
plugin.run with the same params applies that output instead of running
the plug-in again, so the edit stays one guarded, journaled command. A
result whose document or plug-in changed meanwhile is dropped, and the
status bar says to run it again. A cancelled plug-in run is now
EngineError::Cancelled.
What a filter keeps with the document (#3720) goes with the run: it is
given _context.documentData when the run is prepared, and the
documentData of its output is applied with its objects, in the same undo
step, when the run is handed in (FilterRun::finish).
Tests: plugins/tests/abi.rs (100 M loop steps out of a light budget,
within a heavy one; folders skip heavy filters), manifest.rs, engine
tests_plugins.rs (consent, inspect, the store, hand-in, a handed-in
run's document data, cancel) and
ui-egui tests_plugin_runs.rs (installing asks, no Preview, a background
run as one undo step, a stale result kept out, the progress window).
CRAFT_UI_HEAVY_FILTER_WASM=<folder> writes a test filter to try in the
app. Its strings and messages have rows in each complete catalog
(COMPLETE_MESSAGES).

Follow-up to #3702 (CodeRabbit): dimensions are only redrawn when their
recipe changes. Document Color Mode converted their art through the colour
profile, so black became a four-ink C67 M67 Y67 K100 again, and CMYK files
saved before #3702 kept RGB dimension art.
dimension::refresh now also redraws when the document's colour mode
changes. dimension::conform, run when a document is opened or reverted
(Session::add_document, replace_document), redraws a dimension whose art
has colours in the wrong model; one that can't be redrawn keeps its art.
dimension_colours_follow_the_document_colour_model covers RGB to CMYK and
back, and a CMYK document with RGB dimension art being opened. Without the
change it finds C0.67 M0.67 Y0.67 K1 after Document Color Mode.
With the Artboard tool, File › Revert kept the active artboard, but a
command.batch with a file.revert step made artboard 1 the active one.
A batch that switched to another document and back, and the Actions
panel menu's Batch… over a folder whose files it closes or over data
sets with a Revert step, did the same. Each of them starts the tool
afresh and ends in the document it started in, and the app moved the
view to the fresh tool's artboard 1. Only a plain file.revert was
handled, by its command id.
The engine now counts the times switching or closing documents, or
replacing the active one, starts the tool afresh (Session::tool_resets),
and records whether the tool's options were set after that
(Session::tool_set_since_reset). When the count changes during a
command and nothing set the tool's options after it, the app starts
the tool on the active artboard, as it does when a command chooses
another document. When a later step chose the tool's artboards (a
Paste or Cut after the revert), the artboard the tool then has active
becomes the active one.

File › Package… read every linked file and font and wrote the package
on the UI thread, so the window stopped responding until the package
was written. For a document that links 50 images of 21 MB each, OK
with Background Export off, which does the same work, takes a median
of 2.25 s in a release build on Windows.
With Enable Background Export on (Preferences › File Handling), OK now
takes the options, the report's Document Info text and a snapshot of
the document, and closes the dialog. The thread that writes background
saves and exports then collects the links and fonts and writes the
package. The same OK takes 0.001 s, and the package holds the same
bytes. A save of unsaved changes that Package starts is written first.
With the preference off, on the web and over MCP and scripts, the
package is made at once with the same reply as before.
Docs: docs/target-app-parity.md.
With Use Preview Bounds on, a bounding-box handle drag scaled the art by
the ratio of the visual box, so margins that stay (a stroke with Scale
Strokes & Effects off, an Offset Path reach) or scale by another factor
moved the opposite visible edge: dragging the right edge of a square with
Offset Path 10 from 210 to 310 left its left edge at 98.33 instead of 90.
The Selection tool now previews object.setBounds with the dragged visual
size and the opposite handle (with Alt, the center) as the reference
point, so the scale is solved from the geometric box and the margins the
visual box adds, for strokes with Scale Strokes & Effects on or off and
for geometry effects. Shift and Alt drags follow the same rule; a drag
that flips the box, and one with anchors selected, still scale by the
matrix. A previewed object.setBounds runs as object.transform with the
transform it finds, so Transform Again repeats the drag and the journal
holds that transform. The drag transforms a path of a compound path
selected on its own, as object.transform does, and leaves the art at
least 1e-4 of its width and height.
With Use Preview Bounds on, every hover frame's cursor and every
pointer move measured the selection again, and with Smart Guides on
each selected object too, evaluating their geometry effects each time.
The session now keeps a PreviewMemo, which ToolContext::preview_memo
passes to the tools. selection_bounds, selection_box and the object
bounds that Smart Guides find centers in while hovering read it. The
memo holds the measurements for one key: the document's uid and
revision, the selected objects and Use Preview Bounds. A new key
replaces them. VectorcraftApp::selection_box in the UI keys on the
uid, the revision and Use Preview Bounds. A ToolContext without a
memo measures on every call.
Using a library's character or paragraph style, and scrubbing a
numeric field, closed their undo step with Session::end_undo_group,
which closes the open undo group of every document. An undo group open
in another document, such as one begun with edit.undoGroup.begin for
an MCP command_batch with atomic, was closed too, and that document's
next edits became undo steps of their own. When the style failed to
apply, or Escape ended the scrub, the other document's group was
canceled as well and the edits made in it were undone. Inside an undo
group already open in the same document, a scrub closed that group,
Escape undid the edits made in it before the drag, and a style that
failed to apply left the style it had added.
Session::begin_undo_scope and end_undo_scope make the edits in between
one undo step of the active document: the scope opens an undo group
there, or joins the one already open. Ending a scope closes only the
group it opened, in its own document, even when another document
became active in the meantime, and a canceled scope undoes only its
own edits, also inside a group that was already open. library.use and
the scrub use the scope, so Escape inside an open group also takes
back a scrub of the Transform panel's Shear field. edit.undoGroup.end
still closes the open group of every document.
When a cancel removes journal entries numbered below a recording's
start, the entries after them are numbered down. The recording's start
and the journal's hold kept the old number, so Stop Recording left out
as many of the recorded steps as there were entries removed, and the
hold no longer covered them. `Journal::remove` now moves the hold down
with the entries, and Stop Recording reads the start from the hold.
`Journal::replace` puts an entry in place of another and counts it at
its new size. A cancel uses it for the `document.activate` that takes
the place of a canceled group's entry that switched documents, so the
journal's size estimate does not keep the old entry's size.
A cancel cut the journal back to where the first canceled group began.
That also removed the commands run in other documents after it began,
which the cancel does not undo, so a replay of the journal lost them.
Each undo group now keeps the numbers of its own journal entries: the
commands that start and end in its document and the commands that edit
it. A cancel removes only those entries, and the later entries are
numbered down to close the gaps (`Journal::remove`). An entry of a
canceled group that also switched to another document, such as a batch
that draws and then activates another document, is replaced by a
`document.activate` of that document, so the commands after it replay
in the same document.
Session::end_undo_group with cancel cancels the open undo group of
every document. edit.undoGroup.end with cancel calls it, and so do a
field scrub ended with Escape and a library style that fails to apply.
The journal was then cut back to where the group of the last document
in the document list began, not to where the first of the canceled
groups began. When the group that began first belonged to an earlier
document, the journal kept the commands of that group's edits, which
the cancel had undone. After a scrub ended with Escape, which journals
no end command, replaying the journal drew those edits again.
Session::end_undo_group now cuts the journal back to the earliest start
of the groups it cancels.
A lone object selected with ruler guides can be the key (the Selection
tool's click on it), and Align to the key moves the other selected
guides to its edge or centre: vertical guides to left, centre or right,
horizontal ones to top, centre or bottom. Parallel guides line up on a
key guide. Aligning to the selection or the artboard leaves guides alone.
A click with the Selection tool on a guide selected with objects makes
it the key (select.key {guide}), drawn thicker; a click on it again
cancels it. Align to Key Object is on with one object and a selected
guide and makes the guide the key. object.align lines the objects (or
selected anchors) up on the guide's line and leaves the guide where it
is: a vertical guide sets x only, a horizontal one y. The selection
keeps key_guide beside key, never both; it goes with the guide or the
objects, and follows the guide when earlier guides are deleted.
Distribute Spacing doesn't space from a key guide.
VectorCraft had no Objects on Path. A click with the Objects on Path
tool attaches the selected objects to the path clicked. The tool is in
Edit Toolbar's Modify section and the Blend tool's flyout, and Object ›
Objects on Path › Attach and the context menu with two or more objects
selected choose it. The objects and the path go into an Objects on
Path group with the path at its bottom.
- object.objectsOnPath.attach orders the objects column by column from
left to right and top to bottom in each column. The first one sits
on the path's first anchor, the last one sits on the end of an open
path, and the rest are spread evenly by length; a closed path takes
them all the way round. Each object's attachment point (Pivot, one
of nine, default the center of its bounds without strokes) sits on
the path, and the object is turned to the path there. An object that
was rotated by an angle other than a multiple of 90° is first turned
to the nearest multiple of 90°. Rotate tilts every object by that
many degrees counter-clockwise. Symbol instances are measured by
their art. Guides, compound paths, type, paths without length and
graphs are refused with a reason.
- After every edit the objects go back on the path: editing the path
moves them, an object moved on its own goes back, and objects moved
into or out of the group in the Layers panel join the end of the
path or leave it. Scaling, shearing or reflecting the whole group
keeps each object's scale, shear or reflection, and the objects are
spread evenly along the transformed path again. Undo takes the path
and the objects back in one step, and a copied group stays live on
its own path.
- object.objectsOnPath.options changes Pivot and Rotate, and
object.objectsOnPath.expand leaves a plain group. Both act on the
groups that `ids` names, or on the groups of the selection when
`ids` is not given.
- The native file keeps the group live; SVG, PDF and the other exports
write plain art. The tool highlights the path under the pointer, has
a cursor entry, and Escape during a press cancels the click.

The History panel and Edit › Undo and Redo did not translate the steps
that apply or redefine a character or paragraph style, or redefine a
graphic style. The engine built their names with format! ("Apply Body",
"Redefine Body", "Redefine Graphic Style “S”"), and the panel looks a
name up as a whole, so no catalog row matched a name with a style's
name in it. A name cannot be matched against template rows instead: a
character style named Brush gives "Apply Brush", which is also the name
of the brush step.
The engine now names these steps with Session::edit_named, and each
such step keeps its template and the style's name
(HistoryEntry::named) through undo and redo. The History panel and
Edit › Undo and Redo show the template's row with the name in it
(panels::history::entry_name). The name stays as the document holds
it, and the Normal styles' names are shown in the interface language.
Every complete catalog has rows for Apply {name} and Redefine {name},
and Redefine Graphic Style “{name}” had one.
every_undo_label_is_translated also requires a row for each template,
and the only step name it allows to be built with format! is the
Liquify tools' "{} Tool".

On a Wayland session a drawing tablet's pen could not draw or click:
winit 0.30 does not bind the Wayland tablet protocol, and neither KWin
(since Plasma 6.3) nor GNOME's Mutter turns tablet input into pointer
input. Linux Display Server's X11 (XWayland) choice let the pen work as
a mouse, but it opened the window through XWayland on every start, also
without a tablet.
Linux Display Server has a third choice, X11 (XWayland) When a Pen Is
Attached (x11WithPen). It opens the window through XWayland on a
Wayland session only when /proc/bus/input/devices lists a pen as the
app starts: a device with the BTN_TOOL_PEN key and the ABS_X and ABS_Y
axes, the check PhotoCraft's tablet.rs makes. Automatic stays the
default. On Linux the Performance page shows a note for tablet pens
that don't draw.
README.md named KDE alone; the KWin commit's message says Mutter does
not emulate tablet events either, so README.md and docs/development.md
now name GNOME. The Pen pressure row of docs/hardware-parity.md said
Linux has pressure through XWayland; winit 0.30 reports none on X11
either.

Install Plug-in (plugin.install) now keeps the plug-in's module in a
Plug-ins folder next to the preferences, as Illustrator keeps plug-ins in
its Plug-ins folder, and the desktop app and vectorcraft-cli install the
ones there at startup (a module that doesn't load is skipped with a log
record, at most 512 MB are read). Remove Plug-in deletes it from the
folder. The Additional Plug-ins Folder preference is still loaded from
where it is. Confined MCP servers and VECTORCRAFT_NO_PREFS keep nothing,
as with the PDF preset and colour profile stores.

Selecting other art drops Puppet Warp pins, ending Edit Text clears the
flat view, and a font scan lays type out again. None of these makes an
undo step or counts as an edit to save, but each one replaced the
document. A background save that finished afterwards compared the
document with the one it wrote by pointer, so the document stayed
marked modified. Data Recovery also wrote a new copy of a document whose
pins had been dropped.
DocState now records the documents that these changes replaced, and
DocState::same_content counts them as having the same content. The
modified flag, the end of a background save and Data Recovery use it.
After Edit Text ends, an undo state that was the saved one stays the
saved one.
With View > Guides > Lock Guides on, Session::select drops the paths
made into guides from the selection (#1534), but commands that set the
selection another way skipped that filter and left a locked guide
selected, so the next move moved it. object.exitIsolation selected an
isolated guide path. Undo, Redo, a canceled undo group, a canceled
drag or dialog preview and a failed command.batch brought back locked
guide paths and ruler guides in the selection. Unlock All, Show All
and Paste selected the guide paths they unlocked, showed or pasted.
Locking the guides deselected them in the active document only.
The filter is now deselect_guides, which also clears the selected
ruler guides. Session::select and Session::edit run it while Lock
Guides is on, and so do object.exitIsolation, Undo, Redo,
Session::cancel_interaction, a canceled undo group and a failed batch.
Locking the guides deselects them in every open document. With Lock
Guides off, the selection is set as before.

A two-finger rotation on a Mac trackpad did not turn the view. With
the new General preference Trackpad Gesture to Rotate View
(`trackpadRotateView`, on by default) and the pointer over the canvas,
the rotation turns the view about the pointer, keeping the document
point under it in place. The view does not turn until the rotation
reaches 5°; it then turns by the whole rotation and follows each later
rotation event. A rotation ends 0.25 s after its last event. A rotation
in the same frame as a pinch zooms and turns about the same point.
egui reports the gesture as `Event::Rotate`: egui-winit makes it from
winit's macOS rotation gesture, and eframe makes it from Safari's
gesture events in the web build. Rotation events that arrive while
fingers are on a touch screen do not turn the view. With the
preference off, the gesture does not turn the view.

Window › SVG Interactivity was a disabled menu item. VectorCraft could
not attach JavaScript to an object's events or link JavaScript files
for SVG export.
The SVG Interactivity panel lists 19 events, from onfocusin to
onscroll. Pick one, type its JavaScript and press Enter to add it to
the selected objects; the list shows their events. Remove Selected
Entry removes the picked event, and the panel menu's Clear Events
removes all of them. Link JavaScript Files… opens the JavaScript
Files dialog, which adds a path or URL to the document's list and
removes the selected one. Its Choose… button puts a picked file in
as a file:/// URL. The commands are svgInteractivity.info,
setEvent, removeEvent, clearEvents, addFile and removeFile, and
ui.javascriptFilesDialog. Each edit is one undo step. A document
links at most 64 files.
SVG export writes each event as an event attribute on the object's
element and each file as a <script xlink:href> element. With the SVG
Tiny 1.2 profile, export leaves the events out with a warning. SVG
import reads the listed event attributes and the script links back
as text. It never reads a linked file or runs a script, and it leaves
inline scripts and the links after the first 64 out with a warning.
The native format keeps both.
An unnamed <g> with data-* attributes of its own around a single
object now imports as a group. Before, import folded it into the
object, which then took the group's data-* or, when it had its own,
dropped the group's. An unnamed <g> with event attributes stays a
group in the same way. The SVG import fuzz tests now include event
attributes and <script> elements.
Docs: docs/mcp.md, docs/control-protocol.md, docs/target-app-parity.md,
docs/ui-parity.md.
Native files remember the grid like the saved view, so reopening restores it.

PDF presets are kept one file each in a PDF Presets folder, ICC profiles as copies in a Color Profiles folder, next to the preferences; the desktop app and vectorcraft-cli use them. Adds color.removeProfile.

The MCP server read one line, ran it and answered it before reading the next,
so notifications/cancelled was never seen during a call and every request
(even ping) waited behind a running export.
- vectorcraft_doc::cancel: a thread-local cancel token and progress sink that
long work polls. Checkpoints: PDF pages, PDF flattening, geometry bake,
raster-effect flattening, drawing objects, raster artboards, and before any
file is written. A cancelled command returns EngineError::Cancelled and
changes nothing.
- Server::serve reads on its own thread: notifications/cancelled drops a
queued request or stops the running one (no reply, as the MCP spec says),
engine-free requests (ping, the list methods, prompts/get) are answered at
once, a request that would wait behind a call running for 2 s is refused
with -32003 naming that call, and _meta.progressToken gets
notifications/progress (page n of m). Queue and output are bounded.
- The remote backend stops waiting for the app when the call is cancelled.
