file.print, print.preview and print.setup took print settings only as
settings, so an agent had to read a preset with print.presets.list and
copy its settings into the call. They now take preset, the name of
[Default] or of a saved print preset in any case. The preset's settings
are used instead of the document's, settings applies over them, and
print.setup saves them with the document as one undo step. An unknown
name is a parameter error that lists the presets. The app's file.print
with params passes preset on to the engine.

Area type and type on a path whose text doesn't fit print without the
text past the end of the frame. text.create, text.createInPath,
text.setText and text.setStyle report it in their replies, but
file.print and print.preview gave no warning, and the Print dialog's
Summary showed none.
Both commands now add a warning that counts the area type and type on
a path that prints and doesn't fit, and gives their ids (the first 20,
then how many more). It counts the objects that the fallback font
warning counts: visible objects on the layers that Print Layers picks,
on the paper of the artboards or tiles that print. The walk that finds
the fonts of the printed type also collects these ids. Type in the art
of symbols, patterns, brushes, opacity masks and placed documents is
not named.

(Type).
PDF, EPS, EMF/WMF and raster exports, and SVG exports that outline or
embed fonts, warn when type is set in a font family that isn't
available, but file.print and print.preview gave no such warning. A job
in a missing family printed in Source Sans 3 with no warning, and the
Print dialog's Summary showed none.
Both commands now add the exports' warning for the type that prints:
visible type that fits its frame or path, on the layers that Print
Layers picks, where what it paints (its effects applied) lands on the
paper of an artboard or tile that prints, inside its clipping paths.
The type in the symbols, inline graphics, patterns, scatter brushes,
opacity masks and placed documents of the art that prints counts too.
file.print reads the fonts before raster effects and Print as Bitmap
turn type into images, for PDF and PostScript output.
Docs: docs/mcp.md (Print), docs/target-app-parity.md (Fonts).
file.print {settings?, path?} lays the document out on paper and writes one PDF page per sheet:
copies (collated, reversed), artboards (all, a range, ignored), blank artboards skipped, paper
size and orientation (or turned per artboard), transverse, Print Layers (template layers never
print), placement on the imageable area, no scale / fit / custom / tiles of the paper or of the
imageable area with overlap and a tile range; printer's marks and bleed as PDF export draws
them; composite or separations (one grey plate per ink that prints, overprints honoured, spots
as process), emulsion down, negative; rendering intent and preserve numbers. print.preview lists
the pages, tiles, inks and warnings; print.setup saves the settings with the document
(Document.print_setup, one undo step).
PDF export and print share one page writer; the ink separation helpers move from the renderer to
vectorcraft_doc::inks and the range parser to vectorcraft_doc::range so print can use them.
