CodeRabbit on #9775: the encoder picks P5/P6/P7/PFM from the image, not the name, so a .pbm, .pgm or .pfm picked in Save As held other data (an RGB document as P6 in a .pbm). Only the neutral .pnm is offered; File > Open still reads every Netpbm extension.
