A Japanese replacement with more than 240 unique characters was refused. One generated Type 3 font holds at most 240 glyphs, so the text is now split into several fonts, each within that bound. The font changes only where the text moves to another font, and a single font gets the same operators as before. The reader joins runs across the subset fonts of one face, only for fonts written by this code (Type 3, /Name PCJapanese). Other documents are unchanged. A paragraph whose move or width is refused no longer writes its fallback fonts before the refusal, so the document is left as it was. Co-authored-by: Claude Haiku 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
