Nathaniel LedfordandClaude Opus 5.5 ef3e50bb2d Issue #989: the lock test finds true on the PATH (macOS has no /bin/true) ...

The spawning thread ran /bin/true, which is /usr/bin/true on macOS, so
it never spawned a child and the test failed there.
