tests_segment::a_failing_download_ends_with_an_error_and_never_blocks
checks that a second download request while one runs starts nothing. Its
local mirror answered 404 at once, so on a loaded runner the first
download could end before the second request, which then rightly started
a new one: the assertion failed (upstream's gate on #2689, 5223c8095). The
mirror's first answer now waits until the second request is made. A
300 ms pause between the two requests failed the test before and passes
now. Test code only.

A message a catalog lacks, or translates as an empty string, shows in
English and fails nothing:
- build.rs no longer requires every formats catalog to carry the same
messages, and tr_format! gets a last arm that formats the English
source, so a message no catalog has builds.
- Coverage tests (every language translates X) and tests of one
language's exact wording are gone; the language-switching, layout,
date, placeholder and user-value tests read the catalog's own value
instead of a hard-coded translation.
- i18n::tests::translation_gaps_report lists, per language, the plain
and format messages it lacks and its untranslated What's New lines.
It always passes; cargo xtask ci
runs it from the test step's binary after the tests.
- catalogs_load checks that every catalog file is a JSON object of
strings with each key once; it.json named "Dimensions" twice.
doc_path::resolve uses craft_docpath::resolve_absolute; a path that resolves but is not absolute here is reported as not on this computer. Adds tests for Windows-form, GVFS-relative and colon-in-name paths, and a git-sources check in nix.yml and release.yml.
The drop code runs every frame, mostly with nothing dropped; while the
launch list was up, hold_dropped then toasted "The photos are imported once
a library is open" on every frame, hiding any other toast (the presets
one among them). An empty drop is a no-op now. Found by CodeRabbit on
#2701; the test steps frames with the list up and fails without the fix.

dialog_field took the focus back every frame while the field wasn't being edited, so Tab never
reached the check box, Cancel or OK of New Album, New Smart Album, Save Metadata Preset and the
other one-field dialogs. It now takes the focus once, when the dialog opens (the way the keyword
dialogs already did).
crates/ui-egui/src/lib.rs: the batch's handle_dropped_files refuses presets
while no library is open, as #2701 does. The drop card says so, and its
"photos wait" line is desktop-only (the web build's drops import into its
session as before). photos_dropped_with_no_library_open_wait_for_one also
drops a preset; LR-IMP-DRAGDROP row updated.

Presets belong to a library (presets.json, <library>/Profiles): dropped
while the launch list or the failed-library window is up, they went into
the session the library opened then replaced. They are refused with a
toast now; the photos of the same drop still wait for the library. Docs:
What's New, control protocol, the #1290 tracker row.

crates/ui-egui/src/lib.rs: the batch's handle_dropped_files holds the photos
(library_problem::hold_dropped) before the Lightroom / running-import
checks. The drop card (drop_overlay.rs, LR-IMP-DRAGDROP) says the photos
wait instead of announcing an import or a review; test
photos_dropped_with_no_library_open_wait_for_one drops through
`ui.dropFiles`.

While no library is open (the launch list, or the window of a library that
failed to open), a drop went into the in-memory session that the library
chosen then replaced, so the photos were gone from view. They now join the
command line's files (`pendingImport`) and are imported into the library
that opens (or the temporary session), with a toast saying so. Found by
CodeRabbit on #2689. Test
photos_dropped_on_the_launch_list_go_into_the_library_chosen fails with
the hold disabled.

CodeRabbit on #2689 (head b840f3f29):
- docs/control-protocol.md, docs/lightroom-catalog-import.md (#2685): the
destination window opens only when settings.lightroomImport is "ask"; the
three places that said it always asks now say so.
- docs/parity-checklist.md: two dated prose entries cut the revision table,
so the rows after them (#2685's among them) fell outside it. They are rows
now, and the batch's rows read newest-first.

.github/workflows/ci.yml (add/add with #2302): upstream's, which runs the
same `cargo xtask ci` gate through craft-common-actions' gate.yml. #2302's
workflow is superseded; its `ci --quick` (xtask) stays.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* CI: run the gate through craft-common-actions' shared gate.yml; FreeBSD nightly and on release
ci.yml is new: it calls the shared workflow (cached apt packages, nextest, main-only cache saves, Cargo.lock check). FreeBSD and Windows ARM64 run nightly and on pushes to release instead of on pull requests. Depends on storytold/craft-common-actions#69.
* CI: the gate installs no nextest (xtask ci runs cargo test)
The merge kept both upstream's (#2710) and the batch's step that sends the
next request (or shuts the write side) during a slow reply, so request 2
went twice and the test waited on a reply nobody gave. Upstream's step
stays, before the sleep. Also drops a mention of `cargo xtask warm`, which
doesn't exist, from test_selected's doc.

Conflicts:
- xtask/src/main.rs: upstream's runners (cargo test or nextest, no
examples, doctests apart, one wasm `cargo check --keep-going`) with
#2302's `ci --quick` on top: test_selected builds the same targets
(--lib --bins --tests), the wasm check takes the changed crates in one
call, the full test step is upstream's.
- apps/lightcraft/src/control_server.rs: upstream's `before` closure, with
the batch's no-delay sockets kept.
- docs/parity-checklist.md: LR-BEHAV-ACCESS from main (tests/it path),
LR-BEHAV-LOCALE / LR-BEHAV-LOCALIZE from the batch (Polish).

CodeRabbit on #2689 (head 0d64d9ef3):
- Edit In (#1417) returned an error when the editor failed to open although
photo.editExternal had already added the copies to the library, so a script
retrying on ok:false made another set each time. It now succeeds with
`failed` set (null on success, as open_originals) and a toast saying why.
Test edit_in_reports_an_editor_that_wont_open_without_failing fails without
the fix.
- docs/gaps.md, docs/parity-checklist.md: one entry was listed twice on the
Change line.
- Revision-history rows the batch added now read newest-first (gaps,
parity-checklist, localization-parity, target-app-parity); upstream's own
rows are left where they were.

- ORF_DECODED's Camedia branch drops the redundant \\S+ before .*; with two anchored greedies the scanner can no longer retry the same substring count-for-count at lower and lower split points (same match set, verified on 14 body strings).
- {c: 0 for c in classes} is now dict.fromkeys(classes, 0), which the rule wants and which stones the per-class counters.
* CI: dev profile keeps line tables for workspace crates and no debug info for dependencies
* Control server tests: persistent_requests_and_slow_replies_outlive_the_idle_read_timeout no longer races the idle timeout
Each request (and the closing half-shutdown) reaches the socket before the
worker reads, so on a slow machine only the reply waits outlast the 100 ms
idle timeout, as the test intends. The idle test sends its input the same
way, and the no-frames test allows 5 s instead of 2 s to give up.
* CI: one integration-test binary per crate
Each crate's tests/*.rs become modules of tests/it/main.rs (51 test files
into 13 binaries, plus 6 that stay their own). Inner #![cfg] attributes
move to the mod lines. Files that change state for the whole process keep
a binary of their own: codecs jxl_tail_heap and raw sr2_heap (dhat global
allocator), gpu shutdown, shutdown_first and memory, ui-egui shutdown.
Docs, comments and the GPU probe name the new paths and targets
(--test it <module>::); the CI report names an it binary's skips after
the crate.
* CI: tests under nextest, doctests apart, one wasm check
xtask ci runs the tests with cargo nextest run --lib --bins --tests when
cargo-nextest is installed, else cargo test with the same targets and a
one-line notice; doctests run after them with cargo test --workspace --doc.
The heif and hardware GPU steps use the same runner. Examples stay out of
the test build (clippy --all-targets still checks them). Concurrent tests
under nextest follow the RUST_TEST_THREADS cap (NEXTEST_TEST_THREADS).
The wasm check is one cargo check --keep-going over the same crates, and
clippy runs with --keep-going.
* CI: tests run under cargo test by default, nextest with LIGHTCRAFT_NEXTEST=1 (per-process scene cache)
* Packaging: pin the Windows signing client and check its hash
* Packaging: pin appimagetool and check its hash
* Packaging: no pinned tool or runtime for an architecture exits clearly; pin the AppImage runtime and pass it with --runtime-file
Review round: whether a recent library is there is kept apart from whether it can be
opened. `Unavailable::is_missing` (not found, a file, no library, a folder that can't be
listed) is the only answer that greys out File ▸ Open Recent Library and makes
`app.recentLibraries` say `exists: false`; an unreadable catalog or a failed check gives
`null`. A failed open from the launch window (say another program has the library)
drops the answer so it is checked again, instead of storing the open's error as one; the
launch list keeps the error on its row. Test: Open on a locked library from the launch
window, then the menu entry stays enabled and `exists` is true (fails if a failed open
marks it missing); an unreadable catalog gives `exists: null`. Docs worded to match.
