ROADMAP.md: new 'Where we stand' (by dimension and by kind of user; checklist 79% vs
~60-70% as a day-to-day Lightroom replacement) and 'Where we're going' (ordered priorities:
camera colour calibration, CR3 and compressed raws, verified camera coverage, render fidelity
suite, lens profiles, AI model strategy, then HDR / Classic modules / video). Current
parity numbers, M11 status, risks (raw-source decision of 2026-10-05), log.
docs/parity.md: new rows LR-PROF-CAMERACOLOR, LR-IMP-CAMERA-COVERAGE (P0) and
LR-BEHAV-RENDER-FIDELITY (P1) so quality gaps are tracked; Top gaps reordered by user impact.
README.md: honest status summary above the feature table; stale rows fixed (compressed NEF,
DNG/original export, image watermark, Move import), camera colour and AI/HDR/video rows.
AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md: agents read the assessment before picking work, and downgrade
✅ rows they find wrong or incomplete.

AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md gain a "Never crash" section ahead of the
non-negotiables (no unwrap/expect/panic/unreachable/todo/unimplemented or
unsafe in non-test code, Result + ?, checked indexing and arithmetic on
input-derived values, bounded recursion, lock poisoning, the last-resort
guard, a regression test per crash fix), linking
craftrules/standards/never-crash.md. README's Contributing list points to it.
clippy.toml allows unwrap/expect/panic/indexing in tests only, so crates
can carry #![deny(clippy::unwrap_used, ...)] without touching their tests.
unsafe_code stays "deny" for now: apps/lightcraft and apps/lightcraft-cli
call malloc_zone_pressure_relief (libSystem) through a two-line FFI block
to return freed memory on macOS, and no safe wrapper crate exists.

Add LICENSE-MIT and LICENSE-APACHE (Copyright (c) 2026 ArtCraft Team and the
LightCraft contributors) and docs/brand/LICENSE-brand.txt from the Crafting Apps
licensing standard. Rewrite NOTICE to the standard template and drop the stale
Source Sans 3 entry (only Inter is bundled). Attribute docs/brand/ in
assets/ATTRIBUTION.md so `cargo xtask assets` passes again. README gets the
standard "License and credits" section; AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md note the brand
exception to the asset rule.

Drop the app icon from the top of the README, matching PhotoCraft, and
show each app's icon next to its name in the Crafting Apps table in place
of the coloured name badges. The table is now identical across all seven
apps apart from the "you are here" row.

`lightcraft-cli run [--demo | --library DIR | --connect [ADDR]] [--import PATH]… CMD k=v … CMD …`
runs any engine/UI command or control-protocol method (headless, on a persistent library, or
against the running app) and prints one JSON line per command; non-zero exit on failure,
--keep-going, --script FILE|- for JSON lines. Imported photos are selected (first active) so
the chain acts on them; a library's edits are saved for later invocations. Docs: docs/mcp.md,
README.

One row per catalog feature, menu item, desktop shortcut and Classic extra with
tier, status, evidence (command/control ids, files) and what is missing; per-section
summary, ordered Top gaps, and a shortcut conflict review. Linked from README
(Feature status) and AGENTS.md (pick work from Top gaps).

- engine::import: expand files/folders recursively (sorted; hidden entries
and the library folder skipped), skip known paths, probe + hash in
parallel (std::thread::scope), skip duplicates by content hash (against
the library and within the batch), add in place or copy into
<library>/Originals/YYYY/YYYY-MM-DD/ with unique names; one undoable op.
- library.import {paths, mode: add|copy, album?} returns
{imported, duplicates[{path, existing, reason}], failed, scanned}.
- probe_bytes records the content hash (SipHash-1-3 128) on every photo.
- system clock for import/edit times on native (Session::with_system_clock).
- app: command-line folders are expanded by the engine (re-importing the
same folder is a no-op); example gen_photos writes procedural test JPEGs
(never committed).
- Measured (200 procedural 2000 px JPEGs, M-series): import 2.25 s; reopen:
library load 1.7 ms, control ready 0.12 s, first thumbnail 0.17 s,
visible grid drawn 0.48 s (thumbnails from the disk cache).

apps/lightcraft-web runs the egui UI in the browser (eframe web, glow/WebGL2):
procedural demo library on load; in-memory imports via file picker
(Cmd+Shift+I) and drag-and-drop (MemStore + bytes-based engine hooks);
export goes through app.export and downloads in the browser; `?bench` logs
first-frame and slider latency. `cargo xtask web [--serve [port]] [--dev]`
builds with the matching wasm-bindgen CLI into <target>/web/; the web app is
part of the CI wasm check. Wasm fixes: lazy profiling Instant in pipeline,
web-time clocks in ui-egui (render timings were 0 on wasm). Docs: docs/web.md.
No persistence on web yet.

- catalog: Store trait (FsStore: temp+fsync+rename+dir fsync; MemStore),
Journal: CRC-checked JSON-lines op log with sequence numbers + atomic
snapshots; torn final record dropped and truncated, stale records after a
snapshot skipped, mid-log damage preserved as catalog.log.damaged-N.
- PushHistory op so each edit logs one history step (not the full history).
- engine: Session::open_library/persist/close_library; every top-level
command is fsynced before returning; presets.json + view.json;
library.info / library.compact commands.
- app: default library ~/Pictures/LightCraft Library (LIGHTCRAFT_LIBRARY or
--library DIR override), --memory for throwaway sessions, snapshot on quit.
- tests: proptest replay(log)==state with random snapshots/reopens, every
truncation of the last record, stale log, mid-log damage, FsStore, engine
restart without close.
