Chad ElliottandClaude Opus 5.5 3e42f2e05c feat(testkit): #1037 tests record why they skip
libtest has no skipped status and hides the output of passing tests, so a
test that returns early without a GPU, a corpus file, a craft-fonts face or
a model passed silently. `lightcraft-testkit` (the testkit slot the layering
table already reserves, dev-dependency only, std only) adds
`skip!(Need, "reason")`: it prints the note as before and, when
LIGHTCRAFT_SKIP_LOG names a file, appends one JSON line (need, reason, test,
binary, file:line). Plain `cargo test` is unchanged. The 61 existing skip
sites use it.

skylar taylor-barrick 9bfabc98b1 UI.9: integrate shared docking and preserve panel interactions 2026-10-10 16:22:21 -06:00
Jason Baldwin ae033aaf32 LRC-SS-LAYOUT: slideshow layout, options and backdrop: slides composed with margins, stroke, shadow and backdrop
- New crate lightcraft-slideshow (L1, no UI): SlideSettings (margins linked or
  independent, guides, aspect preview, zoom to fill, stroke border, cast shadow,
  backdrop colour, colour wash, background image; lengths relative to the slide's
  shorter side; validated and clamped) and a CPU compose() used by playback, the
  Settings preview and slideshow.preview.
- Engine: slideshow.layout (partial merge, saved in prefs.json) and
  slideshow.preview {id?, width?, height?, path?} (PNG to path or base64);
  RenderJob::with_slide composes on the render worker; the background photo is
  rendered once and shared.
- Playback: with a non-default layout each slide is the composed screen-sized
  slide, prepared ahead like before; the default layout plays as before.
- Settings > Slideshow: Layout, Options and Backdrop sections and a debounced
  live preview of the active photo's slide (with margin guides).
- Tests: composer geometry/pixels/hostile input, command get/set/persist/preview,
  headless playback of a composed slide and of the default layout.

Andrey VyrodovandClaude Opus 5.5 e9e8b5a933 Issue #345: photo merge in the activity stack
The final HDR / panorama merge shows a row with its percentage and stage
instead of the progress toast, and stops from its cross ("HDR merge
cancelled"). The activity tests now let the first renders finish before
they run, and the half-second check tolerates a slow frame.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 c65065de2f Merge the faces stack (#172/#173/#174, integrate-batch-14) into AI RAW denoise (#384)
One config-dir helper (engine::config::config_dir; camera_profiles re-exports it) with both
the face-models and denoise-models defaults; hosts set up both model folders; Settings has
Faces and AI Denoise tabs; both command sets registered; both model dialogs; locale entries
from both; one [features] table per app manifest; Cargo.lock regenerated by cargo; the
DecodedSource cache cost counts both segmentation mattes and the denoised twin.

7935999d94 LR-EDIT-DETAIL-DENOISE: non-destructive AI RAW denoise with pure-Rust CPU/GPU
Recover the unpublished denoise work against current upstream. Preserve later opt-in model setup, shared Rust HTTPS downloads, pending-photo resume and an Amount-independent switch. Keep original RAWs unchanged and share the current color finish between ordinary and denoised sources.

Bound public tiling inputs, refuse corrupt-cache exports, and retain synthetic/real-model coverage. Include two Windows path spelling fixes in existing tests. No model weights, face code, media or Tract runtime are included.

Validation: cargo xtask ci (all seven gates); installed RawNIND CPU/GPU agreement 1.38e-6; native CPU preview/export on a public 24 MP Sony RAW, unchanged original SHA-256.

Daniel VoshartandClaude Sonnet 5.5 cb34bb4842 Faces: Settings > Faces tab and the add-a-model licence dialog
An off-by-default "Recognise faces" toggle and the face model list in Settings,
with a one-drop install: pick a .onnx (Add a model file…) or drop one on the
window. The engine inspects it (recognised by hash, or described from its
shape), a dialog shows its licence, whether commercial use is allowed, what it
was trained on and what LightCraft had to assume, and Install stays disabled
until "I accept" is ticked. "Get…" opens a model's own page in the browser:
LightCraft never fetches a model itself. A file it cannot use says why.

The models folder is shared by the app, the CLI and the MCP server
(`engine::config`, `$LIGHTCRAFT_FACE_MODELS` overrides `<config>/models`), so a
model installed from one is there for the others. A session has none until a host
asks (`with_default_face_models`), which keeps tests hermetic.

Nothing runs a model yet, and the tab says so. Headless tests cover the whole
flow (the dialog, refusing until accepted, installing, a file it cannot use).

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 4159ceb1b0 About: contributor and model credits compiled in (grab bag + table, self-submitted names) (#252)
* About: contributors compiled in from contributors.json (Contributors + Models tabs, grab bag + table, sortable, name toggle)

Adds the craftrules standard (standards/contributors.md) to LightCraft: contributors/contributors.json
is generated by craftrules/scripts/contributors.py and baked into the binary by
crates/ui-egui/build.rs (merged next to the tr_format! generation) as static tables. The About
dialog gets tabs About · Contributors · Models. Each contributor line: @username, opt-in
display/real name, PRs, commits, lines +/−/Δ, binary assets +/−, first/last commit. Sortable by
every column; alphabetical ignores case and the leading @. Tabs and the list view are
control-channel widgets (button:aboutTab-*, button:creditsTable / button:creditsGrabBag).

* Contributors docs: craftrules is two levels up (../../craftrules)

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* Contributors: self-submitted names in contributors/people.toml; AGENTS.md credit-yourself section

build.rs reads contributors/people.toml next to the generated contributors.json and shows a name only
for entries the generator verified as written by that person (craftrules standards/contributors.md).

Daniel VoshartandClaude Sonnet 5 f1b2d9af11 Catalog/UI: show XMP face/pet regions in the loupe view
Threads the Vec<Region> that lightcraft-meta already reads from XMP
(MWG-RS) through to the screen, so it's no longer inert:

- catalog::Meta gains a `regions` field (catalog now depends on
  lightcraft-meta, which doesn't depend back on catalog, so no cycle).
- crates/engine/src/files.rs (meta_of) and src/sidecar.rs (parse_sidecar
  / merge_into) populate it for both embedded-XMP and external-sidecar
  photos, mirroring how `keywords` is already handled.
- ui-egui's loupe view (panels/detail.rs) draws each region as a
  rectangle over the photo via the existing CanvasMap, color-coded by
  kind (Face/Pet/other) with its name label if present, right alongside
  the existing info overlay. Read-only, no new interaction.

New end-to-end test (regions_from_sidecar_are_read_on_import) covers a
region written to a sidecar reaching Photo.meta.regions through real
import, not just the parser. cargo xtask ci green (fmt, clippy -D warnings, test, parity, layers, assets, wasm).

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 93a1fd3bce LR-IMP-ADD-DIALOG + LR-IMP-LOCAL: import review dialog with candidates, destination, album, preset, keywords
library.importPreview scans/probes (probes reused by the import) and marks duplicates;
library.import gains preset, keywords and albumName and is one undo step; File > Add Photos
opens a review grid (thumbnails, checkboxes, duplicates unchecked), add in place or copy into
the dated Originals folders, batched import with progress; engine + headless tests.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 2d2bc2ad8f M0.11: web build (WASM)
apps/lightcraft-web runs the egui UI in the browser (eframe web, glow/WebGL2):
procedural demo library on load; in-memory imports via file picker
(Cmd+Shift+I) and drag-and-drop (MemStore + bytes-based engine hooks);
export goes through app.export and downloads in the browser; `?bench` logs
first-frame and slider latency. `cargo xtask web [--serve [port]] [--dev]`
builds with the matching wasm-bindgen CLI into <target>/web/; the web app is
part of the CI wasm check. Wasm fixes: lazy profiling Instant in pipeline,
web-time clocks in ui-egui (render timings were 0 on wasm). Docs: docs/web.md.
No persistence on web yet.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 bcecab7d84 M1.5: thumbnail/preview cache (disk + memory LRU, prioritized job pool)
- new crate lightcraft-preview (L3): 128-bit content hashing (SipHash-1-3),
  cost-bounded Lru, DiskCache (JPEG q90 files keyed by content hash +
  settings hash + size + RENDER_CACHE_VERSION; temp+rename writes; LRU prune
  by mtime to 80% of budget; corrupt files dropped), PreviewCache (memory
  LRU over disk), JobPool (per-slot dedupe, priorities, reprioritize/drop,
  inline mode for wasm).
- engine: Session::thumb_job buckets thumbnails to 128/256/384/512 and serves
  them from the cache without decoding the source; decoded thumbnail
  sources now in a 384 MB LRU (was unbounded); library attaches
  <library>/thumbs; library.info cache stats; library.clearPreviews.
- ui-egui: Renderer runs on JobPool; thumbnails scrolled out of the
  prefetch area are dropped from the queue; on-screen thumbnails get
  re-prioritized; ui.inspect reports in-flight renders + thumb textures.
- Demo library (24 photos): grid fully drawn 4.4 s cold -> 0.21 s warm
  (24/24 disk hits, no source decoded).
