From afee9df0208a50c37ca1561020d43cf69505b2e8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Bruno-Alumn <171815746+Bruno-Alumn@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Fri, 30 Oct 2026 10:25:32 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] LR-IMP-FORMATS: a Samsung panorama JPEG with its SEF trailer imports (#3350) Some Samsung panoramas have no end-of-image marker: the scan data runs straight into the SEF trailer at the end of the file, so the header check refused them as truncated, and jpeg-decoder (DCT-scaled previews) and zune-jpeg both fail on the trailer's bytes after the scan. When the file ends with a valid SEF trailer (SEFT, a directory length that points at SEFH, a sane entry count, every entry's block inside the file before SEFH) and no EOI is reached, the image is read as the bytes before the earliest SEF block plus an EOI, for both the header and the decode. The cut must fall in scan data after the first SOS; a JPEG cut short without such a trailer is still refused. --- crates/codecs/src/jpeg.rs | 52 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ crates/codecs/tests/it/header.rs | 52 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ docs/parity-checklist.md | 2 +- docs/whats-new.md | 9 ++++++ 4 files changed, 114 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/crates/codecs/src/jpeg.rs b/crates/codecs/src/jpeg.rs index d8b0241a1..3adc6cb4a 100644 --- a/crates/codecs/src/jpeg.rs +++ b/crates/codecs/src/jpeg.rs @@ -131,6 +131,7 @@ const MAX_APP1: u32 = 128; /// type or component count, or when its markers don't run to an end-of-image marker after the /// image data (a truncated file).
