From ae033aaf324802a1fb34b94eefdaba016e825a98 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jason Baldwin <33934381+bitshiftza@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Sat, 10 Oct 2026 21:47:42 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] LRC-SS-LAYOUT: slideshow layout, options and backdrop: slides composed with margins, stroke, shadow and backdrop - New crate lightcraft-slideshow (L1, no UI): SlideSettings (margins linked or independent, guides, aspect preview, zoom to fill, stroke border, cast shadow, backdrop colour, colour wash, background image; lengths relative to the slide's shorter side; validated and clamped) and a CPU compose() used by playback, the Settings preview and slideshow.preview. - Engine: slideshow.layout (partial merge, saved in prefs.json) and slideshow.preview {id?, width?, height?, path?} (PNG to path or base64); RenderJob::with_slide composes on the render worker; the background photo is rendered once and shared. - Playback: with a non-default layout each slide is the composed screen-sized slide, prepared ahead like before; the default layout plays as before. - Settings > Slideshow: Layout, Options and Backdrop sections and a debounced live preview of the active photo's slide (with margin guides). - Tests: composer geometry/pixels/hostile input, command get/set/persist/preview, headless playback of a composed slide and of the default layout. --- Cargo.lock | 11 + Cargo.toml | 1 + apps/lightcraft-web/src/workers.rs | 10 + crates/engine/Cargo.toml | 1 + crates/engine/src/cmd/slideshow.rs | 142 +++++- crates/engine/src/import.rs | 1 + crates/engine/src/lib.rs | 10 + crates/engine/src/library.rs | 4 + crates/engine/src/media.rs | 31 +- crates/engine/src/slide.rs | 140 ++++++ crates/engine/src/tests_slide.rs | 139 ++++++ crates/slideshow/Cargo.toml | 14 + crates/slideshow/src/compose.rs | 513 ++++++++++++++++++++++ crates/slideshow/src/lib.rs | 23 + crates/slideshow/src/settings.rs | 401 +++++++++++++++++ crates/ui-egui/Cargo.toml | 1 + crates/ui-egui/locales/de.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/es.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/fr.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/ja.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/pt-br.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/ru.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/uk.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/zh-hans.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/zh-hant.json | 28 +- crates/ui-egui/src/panels/mod.rs | 1 + crates/ui-egui/src/panels/settings.rs | 27 +- crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slide_layout.rs | 228 ++++++++++ crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slideshow.rs | 38 +- crates/ui-egui/src/render.rs | 3 + crates/ui-egui/src/tests_slideshow.rs | 104 +++++ docs/control-protocol.md | 2 + docs/mcp.md | 6 + docs/parity-checklist.md | 14 +- docs/whats-new.md | 12 + xtask/src/layers.rs | 1 + 36 files changed, 2094 insertions(+), 36 deletions(-) create mode 100644 crates/engine/src/slide.rs create mode 100644 crates/engine/src/tests_slide.rs create mode 100644 crates/slideshow/Cargo.toml create mode 100644 crates/slideshow/src/compose.rs create mode 100644 crates/slideshow/src/lib.rs create mode 100644 crates/slideshow/src/settings.rs create mode 100644 crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slide_layout.rs diff --git a/Cargo.lock b/Cargo.lock index 0ad4ab843..8f2dbb46b 100644 --- a/Cargo.lock +++ b/Cargo.lock @@ -3130,6 +3130,7 @@ dependencies = [ "lightcraft-raw", "lightcraft-scenes", "lightcraft-segment", + "lightcraft-slideshow", "lightcraft-tiff", "log", "miniz_oxide 0.8.9", @@ -3326,6 +3327,15 @@ dependencies = [ "thiserror 2.0.21", ] +[[package]] +name = "lightcraft-slideshow" +version = "0.5.0" +dependencies = [ + "lightcraft-raster", + "serde", + "serde_json", +] + [[package]] name = "lightcraft-sysmem" version = "0.5.0" @@ -3357,6 +3367,7 @@ dependencies = [ "lightcraft-pipeline", "lightcraft-preview", "lightcraft-raster", + "lightcraft-slideshow", "log", "serde", "serde_json", diff --git a/Cargo.toml b/Cargo.toml index 58e5383b7..4a796e757 100644 --- a/Cargo.toml +++ b/Cargo.toml @@ -35,6 +35,7 @@ lightcraft-mcp = { path = "crates/mcp" } lightcraft-fetch = { path = "crates/fetch" } lightcraft-heif = { path = "crates/heif" } lightcraft-segment = { path = "crates/segment" } +lightcraft-slideshow = { path = "crates/slideshow" } # foundation thiserror = "2" diff --git a/apps/lightcraft-web/src/workers.rs b/apps/lightcraft-web/src/workers.rs index f321bdb9b..86d54fc66 100644 --- a/apps/lightcraft-web/src/workers.rs +++ b/apps/lightcraft-web/src/workers.rs @@ -165,6 +165,8 @@ struct Busy { level: SourceLevel, key: u64, cache: Option<(Arc, Hash128)>, + /// A slideshow slide: the worker renders the photo, it is composed here when it comes back. + slide: Option>, } struct W { @@ -369,6 +371,13 @@ impl Workers { });
