From 12dc533396fd7b6e8d000c2a4b5b855257a40849 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jason Baldwin <33934381+bitshiftza@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Sat, 10 Oct 2026 22:54:40 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] LRC-SS-OVERLAYS: slideshow overlays: identity plate, rating stars, text with tokens, watermark MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit - Engine: slide_overlay (OverlaySettings in prefs.json, the new slideshow.overlays command): identity plate (text, or a PNG/JPEG file with its transparency; size, colour, opacity; render behind image), rating stars (own vector stars), up to 16 text overlays with tokens ({caption}, {exposure}, {file}, {date}, {focal}… plus every rename token; unknown tags show as typed and are reported) and a drop shadow, each at one of nine anchors of the slide or photo plus an offset, kept on the slide; the export watermark on the photo. Sizes relative to the slide's shorter side; validated and clamped. - Drawn by the engine as a second pass over lightcraft_slideshow::compose_with (new behind hook for "render behind image"); the watermark's text renderer moved to engine text.rs (TextLayout, Inter + craft-fonts CJK) and is shared; glyphs off the image are skipped so huge text stays cheap. - rename::expand_tokens_with lets overlays add tokens without changing rename. - Playback composes slides when overlays are on; slideshow.preview returns each overlay's box. Settings > Slideshow > Overlays section with live preview. - Docs: parity row (partial), whats-new, control/MCP docs, nine locale catalogs. - Tests: tokens, nine anchors, star count, plate image opacity and missing file, text shadow, resolution independence, hostile input, big-slide cost, CJK with craft-fonts, prefs persistence, preview and headless playback pixel checks. --- crates/engine/src/cmd/slideshow.rs | 33 +- crates/engine/src/export.rs | 190 +-- crates/engine/src/lib.rs | 5 + crates/engine/src/library.rs | 4 + crates/engine/src/rename.rs | 63 +- crates/engine/src/slide.rs | 35 +- crates/engine/src/slide_overlay.rs | 1322 +++++++++++++++++++ crates/engine/src/tests_slide.rs | 90 ++ crates/engine/src/text.rs | 207 +++ crates/slideshow/src/compose.rs | 30 +- crates/slideshow/src/lib.rs | 2 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/de.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/es.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/fr.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/ja.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/pt-br.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/ru.json | 15 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/uk.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/zh-hans.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/locales/zh-hant.json | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/src/panels/mod.rs | 1 + crates/ui-egui/src/panels/settings.rs | 2 + crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slide_layout.rs | 14 +- crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slide_overlays.rs | 265 ++++ crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slideshow.rs | 2 +- crates/ui-egui/src/tests_slideshow.rs | 83 ++ docs/control-protocol.md | 3 +- docs/mcp.md | 5 +- docs/parity-checklist.md | 10 +- docs/whats-new.md | 13 + 30 files changed, 2290 insertions(+), 216 deletions(-) create mode 100644 crates/engine/src/slide_overlay.rs create mode 100644 crates/engine/src/text.rs create mode 100644 crates/ui-egui/src/panels/slide_overlays.rs diff --git a/crates/engine/src/cmd/slideshow.rs b/crates/engine/src/cmd/slideshow.rs index 17bd861f1..1ac391055 100644 --- a/crates/engine/src/cmd/slideshow.rs +++ b/crates/engine/src/cmd/slideshow.rs @@ -2,8 +2,9 @@ //! random order, repeat, preparing previews in advance). `slideshow.layout`: how a slide looks //!
