AganzeFelicite b962603707 M4: points dropped on a point merge ...

In vector edit mode a point dragged onto another point of its path
snapped there but stayed a separate point, so a path couldn't be closed
or joined by dragging. A single dragged point dropped within the point
hit radius (6 px) of another point now merges into it, in the same undo
step as the move, and that point stays selected.
