Shadows and layer blurs dominated PNG/JPG/WebP export time (gdb stack
sampling of the example files: about 45% in fx::box_blur_h, 13% in
fx::morph). Both now produce the same bytes, faster:
- fx::blur runs its three box passes per row while the row is in cache,
works on whole pixels instead of bounds-checked bytes, skips fully
transparent rows, transposes in cache-friendly column blocks, and
splits rows and transposes across rayon on desktop for pixmaps of
64K pixels and more, only when not already on a rayon worker (a band
of render_view stays on its thread: no nested parallelism).
- fx::morph (shadow spread on layers that aren't one outline) uses the
van Herk / Gil-Werman running max/min: constant work per pixel instead
of 2r + 1.
Integer arithmetic and pass order are unchanged; new tests compare both
against the previous implementations byte for byte, including sizes on
the parallel path.
An ignored timing test exports every top-level frame of examples/ as
PNG, JPG and WebP at 2x through export_file:
cargo test --release -p figcraft-engine --lib export_timings -- --ignored --nocapture
Ryzen, 16 threads, Linux; median of 7 (min):
PNG 2195 ms (2182) -> 992 ms (989) -55%
JPG 2880 ms (2560) -> 1550 ms (1535) -46%
WebP 1964 ms (1901) -> 1022 ms (1018) -48%
total 7035 ms (6677) -> 3567 ms (3555) -49%
All 80 exported files (PNG, JPG, WebP, PDF, SVG) are byte-identical.

Real msiexec runs (per-user and all-users, silent and wizard) found two defects
that the metadata fixtures cannot see:
- "Only for me" published ALLUSERS=2, so FindRelatedProducts treated the run as
per-machine and skipped the existing per-user copy. An interactive upgrade
left two registered products and uninstall left files behind. The page now
leaves ALLUSERS unset for a per-user choice.
- Windows Installer resolves Program Files once, for the context it started in,
so choosing "Everyone" in the wizard installed into the user profile with a
machine-wide registration. The wizard now sets the new-install folder itself
after the choice (Program Files, Program Files (x86) for 32-bit, or the
per-user Programs folder). Silent installs are unchanged.
check-install-policy.ps1 now fails if either regresses.

A viewer moving the pointer sends presence about 30 times a second, and every message sent put
the next ping off by the keep-alive interval, so no ping went out while presence did. The host
answers pings and nothing else to a client alone in a session (presence goes to the other peers),
so nothing was heard for the idle timeout (45 s): the client dropped a healthy connection and
reconnected, over and over. Seen in the browser build; the desktop app's guest has the same
timing (its reader times out the same way) and gets the same change.
Pings are now timed from the last ping, not from the last message sent: one goes out every 15 s
whatever else is on the wire. Regression test: 90 s of presence at 10 a second with the host
answering only the pings keeps the connection (it closed before the change).

node.create and node.set take {"$var": variable id or name} for fill and stroke: an exact id
first, then an unambiguous name or Collection/name. The binding goes through the same code as
variable.bind, is applied after literal values and style links, replaces other bindings of that
paint's colour and clears its style link, all in one undo step.

Session::grouped saved only the undo stack's length, so a failed group could drop the entries it
added but not bring back the ones an edit.undo inside it popped. It now keeps each document's undo
entries on entry, as it already did for redo, and restores them when the group fails.

A density now counts only within 0.005 of a whole 2x-4x multiple of
72 dpi. That covers the rounding of pixels per metre (144 dpi is stored
as 5669 or 5670) and rejects nearby resolutions: 141, 143 and 145 dpi
were read as 2x under the old 0.05.
Paste falls back to the decoded clipboard image when the clipboard's PNG
can't be read, instead of pasting nothing.
Also the line on what the objc2 crates are for, and the ROADMAP row for
the new placing default.
A placed image was always fitted into 1000 px on its longer side, so a
screenshot of a 1440 px wide page came in at 1000 px and stopped lining
up with the design it was taken from. Figma places an image at its pixel
size and only scales down a side past 4096 px.
Placing now does the same, and reads the screen density a PNG records:
macOS screenshots carry 144 dpi (pHYs), so an 800 x 600 px capture of a
400 x 300 pt area comes in at 400 x 300, as in Figma. Only whole 2x-4x
multiples of 72 dpi count as a screen density; 300 dpi print scans and
other values keep their pixel size. The image data stays at full
resolution, so exports at 2x and up stay sharp.
On macOS, pasting reads the clipboard's public.png as is instead of the
decoded pixels arboard returns, which drop the density (and the colour
profile). Other platforms keep the decoded image.
Files dropped, Place image, paste and image.place all go through the
same path; an explicit width/height still wins.
Lowercasing a name ending in Σ gives ς, while a query Σ on its own lowercases to σ, so the
substring check missed it (CodeRabbit). Both sides now fold ς to σ.

command.batch and the MCP batch tool take onError: "abort" (the default, unchanged) or
"continue". In continue mode each step runs inside a rollback-only checkpoint split out of
Session::grouped: a failed step is rolled back on its own, later steps still run, and the result
is one {step, command, ok, result|error} object per step. What was applied is one undo step; a
reference to a failed step fails too; malformed batches are still rejected before any step runs.

descendants of root (or the current page) that match every filter given: name, text and main

The attached backend read each reply from the app's control port with read_line, which has no
limit. It now reads up to 512 MiB before the newline (an app window capture is at most 256 MiB as
base64) and stops at the first byte past that. An oversized or non-UTF-8 reply drops the
connection and is reported like a lost reply; the next call reconnects.

Brings #1210 onto main as it stands after #1019 and #1209, and keeps both:
- #1019's flyout caret keeps its 16 pt target, 2 pt clear of its tool (#988).
- #1209's narrow-window handling stays as it landed: the pill is never wider
than the canvas less a margin and its buttons scroll inside it under a drag
or the wheel, the help button lifts above it when they'd overlap, and the
pill still clips to itself rather than floating over the panels.
The design itself, as #1210 proposed it:
- One grid for every state of the pill: 32 pt cells, 8 pt padding, 8 pt between
top-level items (the divider included), a 1 pt divider as tall as the content,
16 pt carets, 14 pt mode marks, and a 32 pt mode strip whose current mode is a
plain inset with no outline.
- The Resources button goes; the left rail's Assets tab, Shift+I, Alt+2 and
View > Panels > Assets remain the ways into the Assets panel (and the locale
key, its test and the parity notes go with it).
- The vector edit and shape builder pills move onto the same grid, so a pill
never changes its spacing as the tool changes.
main_width is now the same walk the pill draws, and a test walks it for the
design and board toolbars: the last item ends exactly PAD from the right edge.
That caught the board pill asking for 8 pt more than it drew.
Split out of #932 (the 2 px outlines and missing frame radius handles there
move the canvas away from the reference tool, but the constraint-guides part
is good on its own — bflatastic, #issuecomment-6420566791). When a layer inside
a non-auto-layout frame is selected, blue dashed guides show how it is pinned:
a left/right/top/bottom constraint draws a line from the layer's edge midpoint
to the frame edge, and both-axis constraints draw both. A centre constraint
marks the layer itself with a short solid bar through its middle — horizontal,
vertical, or a cross when centred on both axes — rather than a guide reaching
the frame's centre.
main split `codegen.rs` into `dev/codegen.rs` (the shell: `CodeLang`,
`code_for`, `Ctx`, the shared helpers) and one module per native target
(`css`, `html`, `swift`, `compose`, `arkui`), and added Vue and ArkUI from
other PRs. Flutter arrives as the tenth target, in its own module:
`dev/codegen/flutter.rs`, wired from `codegen.rs` (`CodeLang::Flutter`, `dart`
as an alias, rem left to the web targets), with `flutter_definition` /
`flutter_type` / `flutter_default` beside main's `arkui_definition`.
Every language list in the tree is a union of the two sides now: the
`inspect.code` and `inspect.componentCode` specs, `codeConnect` (parse, import
line, expression, template, path checks, messages), the playground CSS/HTML
assets, the 21 UI catalogues (main added eight after this branch: bn, fi, it,
ka, nl, pl, th, vi, each with Flutter in its own conjunction) and the docs.
Flutter is an extra code target; nothing main gained is dropped.
The reviewer's absolute-child bug (#1382-1403: a child that ignores its auto
layout parent fell through to `Place::Flow`) is fixed in `flutter_children`:
flow and absolute children are split, the absolute ones go in a `Stack` around
the Row/Column at the parent's own box (so their offsets stay the parent's and
the padding moves onto the line instead of insetting them), the line fills that
Stack (`Positioned.fill`, so `Expanded` still has a bounded width), and only
flow children now decide `CrossAxisAlignment.stretch` and `Expanded` — the
absolute child no longer joins the line's spacing or loses its offsets.
`flutter_lifts_a_child_that_ignores_its_auto_layout_parent_out_of_the_line`
covers both kinds of child in one auto-layout frame: a 50×20 flow child and a
30×30 absolute one asking for `fill` on both axes, in a parent with 4 pt
padding. It checks the offset, that the absolute child is out of the Row, that
no `Expanded`/stretch comes from it, and that the padding insets the line only.
ROADMAP and dev-mode-parity keep main's header (2026-10-26) and take this
branch's history row in date order (2026-10-16).
`cargo test`: engine 1391 pass, ui-egui 814 + 8 + 1 pass; fmt and clippy clean.
The one engine failure, `board_tables_tests::a_double_click…`, fails the same
way on a pristine `origin/main` here: this sandbox has no `craft-fonts`
checkout, so its text doesn't wrap and the row can't grow.

main moved the colour picker into `widgets/colorpicker.rs` and gave it a fixed
area id (#976: `window_id()`), which the style picker looks up to tell a press
inside the picker from one outside. This merge keeps that id as the picker's
own area: the popover takes it as-is (`Popover::with_id`), so the lookup and the
#237 regression test keep working — the test now finds the picker by the id
instead of by its z-order.
The rest is the popover arriving on top of current main:
- the colour picker's `egui::Window` is the shared card: its 40 pt header —
title 16 in, X 8 in from the right — is the popover's, and its body is
unchanged, eyedropper included;
- the style picker's own area, frame and border are the same card on the dark
surface; its title moved into the header, its tools row stays;
- presses in the Design panel and on the control that opened the picker are
held out of the closing, so that control's own click toggles the picker;
- while the eyedropper samples (still picking, or a colour just picked) a press
on the canvas is the pick, so it does not close the picker it picks for.
`right.rs` was split by main: its four swatch call sites are now in
`panels/right.rs` (page background), `panels/right/paints.rs` (a text range's
fill, a paint row) and `panels/right/effects.rs` (an effect's colour). egui 0.37
deprecates `Id::new` for `Id::unique`, which the new module uses.
`cargo test -p figcraft-ui-egui`: 824 + 8 + 1 pass; fmt and clippy clean.
main split `right.rs`, `typography.rs` and `layout_panel.rs` into `panels/`
(the right panel's sections in `panels/right/{paints,stroke,effects,inspect,menu}`,
the Type section in `panels/typography/`). This merges that refactor with the
panel grid, so the grid's numbers now live where the code does:
- rows inset 16 from the left and 8 from the right (`block`, `sublabels`);
- two 88 pt columns with 8 pt gutters and a 24 pt button column at a row's end
(`col_width`, the stroke's align/weight pair, the effect and grid rows);
- a row's two buttons are one group on the right edge, 24 each, 4 apart
(`widgets::tight_end` in the paint, effect and grid rows);
- section headers: the last icon ends 8 pt from the edge, icons 28 apart;
- the right panel's frame keeps no stroke (a stroke counts as margin and took
1 pt off each side); its edge is drawn in `right_panel`.
Widget text stays at 11 pt, the size the app we match uses: the merge keeps
main's type throughout (section titles 11 pt, now regular; captions 10 pt) and
changes geometry only. The Type section's size field follows the new column.
`cargo test -p figcraft-ui-egui`: 814 + 8 + 1 pass; fmt and clippy clean.
The backward search for a safe break started at line_start + 2, so in a
three-letter run like กเม it skipped the only safe boundary and left the
line ending in a leading vowel.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Thai, Lao, Khmer and Burmese write no spaces, so a paragraph has no break
opportunity and wraps where it overflows. That emergency break could start a
line with a letter's trailing mark or end one with a leading vowel, splitting
a syllable (and, when the break fell between the glyphs of one cluster, drawing
it twice).
- The break backs up to a boundary that keeps a mark with its letter and a
leading vowel with the consonant after it; when the line's first character is
in one, it carries the pair over to the next line instead. Lao leading vowels
count too.
- It only breaks between grapheme clusters now, never between glyphs of one.
- Tests: a font-free unit test for the boundary rule, and a Thai wrapping test
over 39 widths (skips without a Thai face).
