`horizontal` and `vertical` are optional page-unit gaps (at least one is required, magnitude at
most 1,000,000). The first column/row stays fixed; subsequent tracks move without changing sizes,
parents or offsets inside each track. Nonuniform gaps become uniform. Normal auto-layout flow
children, locked/hidden layers and instance internals are excluded. Interactive callers may pass
`fromGesture: true` inside an interaction to keep using its original tracks during a scrub.
