in the viewer (viewer_text.rs), keyboard/IME/clipboard, box handles; engine
text.edit/endEdit/setSelection/moveCaret/insert/delete, layer.setText range,
caret insertion style, Paste Text and Match Formatting / Paste Text
Formatting Only (stubs removed); Character/Paragraph/Properties panels act
on the selection.
