Dylan M. TaylorandClaude Sonnet 5.5 4e9fa51f12 sonar: method paths instead of closures (rust:S1612)
Poison recovery, OsStr::to_str and char predicates only; S4325 casts are
f64 to f32 and stay.

vangel76andClaude Opus 5.5 b58197ff82 #874: scan Flatpak host, XDG and fontconfig font folders on Linux
Problem: on Linux the font list only scanned /usr/share/fonts,
/usr/local/share/fonts, ~/.local/share/fonts and ~/.fonts. The ArtCraft
Launcher installs EffectCraft as a Flatpak, where those folders hold only
the runtime's fonts and the host's fonts live under /run/host, so installed
fonts were missing (25 families instead of 320 on the reporter's setup).
$XDG_DATA_HOME/fonts, $XDG_DATA_DIRS/*/fonts and fontconfig <dir> entries
were never scanned either.

Fix: a new font_dirs module lists the usual folders, the Flatpak host
folders (/run/host/fonts, local-fonts, user-fonts), the XDG data folders
and the <dir>/<remap-dir> entries of the fontconfig configuration
(FONTCONFIG_FILE or /etc/fonts/fonts.conf, /usr/local/etc/fonts/fonts.conf,
and ~/.config/fontconfig), following <include>s with prefix="xdg",
"relative" and ~ expansion. It uses a small tag scanner (no new dependency),
bounds the include depth, the number and size of files read, and reads each
file once. Folders are deduplicated before the walk, and the walk depth
goes from 4 to 8. docs/agents.md lists the folders and how to grant the
Flatpak an extra one.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 0873393e43 Never crash: text layout and font resolution without expect()
Text layout and font resolution without expect(): an empty line list keeps the default bounds,
the line breaker stops instead of expect()ing a checked option, and font resolution falls back
to the first bundled face. The one remaining expect (the bundled-font database is never empty)
carries the documented narrow allow. Denies the panic lints in the crate.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 f89af341a6 M13.6: variable font axes in the character style
CharStyle/TextDoc variations (layer.setText variations), shaped with harfrust instances so
advances follow HVAR/gvar, outlines drawn at the design-space position, animator deltas relative
to the style's values, Character panel Variable Font Axes fields (character.axis.<tag>).

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 7537eea85c M13.5: Animate Text > Variable Font Axes
Text: text.animatorFontAxes (replaces the stub) lists the layer font's
variation axes (skrifa) or adds an animator property that offsets one axis
(weighted by the selectors, from the axis default); the renderer redraws each
character's outline at its design-space position (cached per location). The
Timeline's Animate: menu lists the font's axes.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 1ebfef77c4 M13.5: vertical Roman, tate-chu-yoko, forced LTR, animated caret, Lottie style runs
Text: vertical type turns Roman characters on their side (CJK stays
upright) unless Standard Vertical Roman Alignment is on; Tate-Chu-Yoko sets
selected characters horizontally in a one-em cell of the column (layer.setText
tateChuYoko / verticalRomanUpright, Character panel toggles). A Left-to-Right
paragraph is now forced LTR instead of auto-detected. The editing caret follows
animators and text on a path (render::text::caret_maps). Lottie export writes
per-character style runs as index-unit range animators.

Brandon ThomasandClaude Opus 5.5 f78435927b M9.9: text style runs + paragraph settings
TextDoc gains character style runs (font, size, colours, tracking, leading,
baseline shift, h/v scale, tsume, faux styles, caps, super/subscript, kerning
metrics/optical/manual, ligatures) and per-paragraph settings (justification
with last-line modes, indents, space before/after, direction, composer,
hanging punctuation), serde-compatible with single-style documents. Layout
handles mixed runs on a line (shared baseline, largest leading), every-line
composer, editing geometry (carets, hit testing, selection quads) and basic
vertical type. Renderer colours per run. Expressions get the sourceText style
API (style, getStyleAt, createStyle, setters with character ranges).
