Probe reused connections before writing so an app restart does not lose the next call. Report connection failures as not reachable with nothing sent, while retaining uncertain outcomes and no replay after sending begins.
Add same-port restart and unavailable-app loopback regressions, and retain the lost-reply guard.
Replace native engine saves and engine/MCP exports atomically, preserving private permissions during staging and cleaning up failed writes. Add regressions for long filenames and caught writer unwinding.
Fixes#436.

Do not resend a request after a transport failure. Report the uncertain outcome and reconnect on the next explicit request.
Validation: all six cargo xtask ci gates passed on the merge candidate; 1,177 native tests passed and all 15 WASM packages checked. Lost-reply, invalid UTF-8 and timeout probes reproduced duplicate edits before the fix and one edit afterward.
Task: #514
* CLI: run rejects an export option with no export after it (#67)
--page, --scale and --pdf-options apply to the exports that follow them; one
given after the last --export or --all-pages did nothing and said nothing.
The usage text and docs/agents.md say so.
* MCP: document that text offsets and story lengths are UTF-8 bytes (#68)
* MCP: docs name the UI-only commands precisely; app.links works headless (#62)
* README: PDF and EPUB export ship (#60)
Commands return errors instead of expect()/unreachable!() (book, library,
undo/redo, paste, find/replace, Pathfinder, tables, QR, select, swatches,
anchors, articles, transform again, XML import). The sample document builder
propagates errors. Commands that add a key to their parameters no longer
panic when a caller (control channel, MCP, script) passes an array or a
string, and corrupt crash-recovery metadata is ignored. engine, mcp and
tools now deny unwrap/expect/panic/unimplemented/todo/unreachable.
