A pen reading of 1 is the full pen width. A lighter touch draws a thinner
stroke, and a zero reading stays visible at 8% of the pen. A mouse, a
missing or non-finite reading, and a stroke whose samples are all the old
placeholder 0.5 still draw at the pen width. PPTX keeps one width per
stroke: the mean of the samples for a pressured stroke, the pen width for
a legacy one. Tilt is not read.

Inset each pyramid band's text past the band's mid width so bullets no longer hang over the sloped sides; capped so the tip band still has room.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Layouts now include Vertical and Horizontal Bullet List, Basic Block List,
Basic/Chevron/Vertical/Step Up Process, Basic and Block Cycle, Basic Radial,
Basic and Inverted Pyramid (bands drawn as polygons so the slope and the
text stay right), Basic and Titled Matrix, and Hierarchy. Each layout says
which nodes each shape shows, so typed text maps back for any layout.
SmartArt Styles (flat, subtle, intense, white outline) and Change Colors
(colourful or one accent) are kept on the diagram, offered in the SmartArt
Design tab, and written to .pptx as quick style / colour definition ids
(and read back from them).

Radar and filled radar charts are drawn polar: spokes per category,
polygon gridlines and value labels up the first spoke. Stock charts
draw high-low lines with close dashes, or up/down bars between open
and close, and are saved as c:stockChart (hiLowLines, upDownBars)
instead of a line chart; c:upDownBars is read, and chart.options takes
upDownBars. New stock charts start as high-low-close and new combo
charts as columns with a line.

Export: a group with a diagram becomes a graphicFrame naming ppt/diagrams
data, layout, quickStyle and colors parts, plus the group's shapes as the
cached drawing (dsp). The data model is built from the outline (doc, node,
parTrans/sibTrans points and parOf links). A diagram read from a file keeps
its own layout, quick style and colour parts until its layout is switched.
Import: the outline is rebuilt from the data model's parOf tree, so
PowerPoint diagrams get the Text Pane. Their shapes stay the file's drawing
until the first outline edit (typed text isn't mapped back to nodes then).
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
A SmartArt group now keeps its outline (Shape.diagram: layout + nodes with
levels) and its shapes are regenerated from it inside the group's child
rectangle. New commands: smartArt.nodes, setNodes, addNode (after, before,
above, below), removeNode, promote, demote and layout. Sub-points become
bullets in their parent's shape; the hierarchy layout is a real tree with
connector lines. Text typed into a diagram shape is read back first.
UI: a SmartArt Design contextual tab and a Text Pane (Enter adds a line,
Tab/Shift+Tab demote/promote, Backspace on an empty line removes it).

Read, keep and write every cx:lvl of a chartEx category dimension,
build a category tree from runs of parent labels, and draw treemaps as
nested squarified groups with banners and sunbursts as one ring per
level. Box & whisker honours quartileMethod="inclusive" (QUARTILE.INC)
on import, render, save and the chart.options command.

File › New and the start screen offer Briefing, Lesson, Pitch, Field Notes,
Quarterly and Evening Talk. Each is a few slides of our own text on one of
our themes. file.new takes template, and file.templates lists them. Passing
a theme as well, or blank, is refused. PowerPoint's large gallery is still
open.

Histograms and Paretos bin their observations (bin count, bin width or
Scott's rule) and draw as touching columns, a Pareto with its cumulative
line on a percentage axis. Box and whisker charts draw exclusive-quartile
boxes, 1.5 IQR whiskers, means and outliers per category group.
Edited and new Office 2016 charts are written as chartEx parts from the
model (with the plain-chart fallback), so a waterfall stays a waterfall.
The chart menus list all seven types, and chart.options sets bins and
waterfall totals.

An owned corpus opens, saves and reopens SmartArt and OLE kept as XML, audio and video bookmarks and trims, a section with a hidden slide, slide-number and date fields, ink, .glb models and animation repeat, bounce end and triggers. Relationship-bearing SmartArt and OLE, playback options and rewind stay with their open PRs.
View ▸ Notes Master edits the notes master on a notes-size page (creating
PowerPoint's default placeholders if the deck has none); its tab toggles
header, date, slide image, body, footer and page number, sets the
background and closes the view. The PPTX writer now writes an edited
notes master as it is, even in a deck without notes. Stacked on #572.
View ▸ Handout Master opens the handout master (creating one with header,
date, footer and page-number placeholders if the deck has none) on a page
at the notes size, with a dashed preview of where 1-9 slides go. Its
contextual tab toggles the placeholders, sets the background and closes
the view. Stacked on #533, which reads and writes the handout master.
Format > Tabs opens from Home > Line Spacing > Tabs…, from the
Paragraph dialog, or by double-clicking a tab stop on the ruler. It
lists the selected paragraphs' tab stops (inches) with their
alignment. Set adds or replaces a stop at a position with Left,
Center, Right or Decimal alignment, Clear removes one, Clear All
removes them all, and you can change the default tab spacing. OK
applies everything in one undo step through format.tabs, which now
takes `set`. Cancel changes nothing.
The ruler's corner has PowerPoint's tab selector. A click cycles left,
center, right and decimal, and a click on the ruler then sets that
kind of stop. Presses on the rulers no longer reach the slide, so
they don't end text editing.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
While you edit text, the horizontal ruler now shows the text area's
span and the indent and tab markers of the paragraph with the caret.
- First-line indent: the top triangle.
- Hanging indent: the bottom triangle. Dragging it moves the left
indent while the first line stays put.
- Left indent: the box under the hanging triangle. Dragging it moves
both.
- Tab stops are drawn as left, centre, right and decimal marks.
- A click on the ruler adds a left tab, dragging a tab moves it, and
dragging a tab down off the ruler removes it.
Every change goes through a command (format.paragraph or the new
format.tabs). Each is one undo step and applies to the selected
paragraphs, and text editing goes on throughout. format.ruler is a
new query that reports the text area's position and the paragraph's
resolved indents and tabs. Rotated and vertical text show no markers.

View > Guides used to paint two fixed centre lines. Guides now belong
to the presentation (DrawGuide, read from and written to p:guideLst in
viewProps.xml, in eighths of a point), so they survive a save and
reopen in PowerPoint.
- Turning Guides on gives a deck without guides PowerPoint's two
centre guides.
- A guide can be dragged anywhere away from shapes. It moves in whole
points, unless Alt is held or snapping is off, and shows its
distance from the centre while it moves.
- A guide dropped off the slide is deleted.
- The slide context menu's Grid and Guides submenu has Add Vertical
Guide and Add Horizontal Guide.
- While guides are shown, moving and resizing shapes snaps to them.
New commands guide.add, guide.move and guide.delete are undoable;
guide.list is a query.

Adds edit.pasteSpecial. Keep Source Formatting bakes the copied shapes'
theme colours and theme fonts into fixed values (captured at copy time),
Picture draws the copied shapes into one PNG picture, and Keep Text Only
pastes plain text. Ctrl+Alt+V, Edit › Paste Special… and the Paste menu
open a Paste Special dialog.

Shapes could only get an action from an action button preset or a
hyperlink to a URL or slide. Insert > Action > Action Settings… opens
PowerPoint's dialog with Mouse Click and Mouse Over tabs: None,
Hyperlink to (next, previous, first, last, last viewed, end show, a
custom show, a slide or a URL), Run program, Play media, and Highlight
click, starting from the shape's current setting.
The new shape.action command sets or clears the click or hover action
of the selected shapes and checks slides, custom shows and required
arguments.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Adds text.find (match case, whole words; matches in shape text, table
cells and speaker notes) and text.replace (one match or all, as one
undo step, keeping the first run's formatting). Home gets Find and
Replace buttons, Ctrl+F / Ctrl+H and Edit › Find… / Replace… open a
Find and Replace dialog that steps through matches slide by slide.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
An owned corpus of those element kinds survives open, save and reopen.
Paragraph default run properties, including a link, and action sounds
were dropped on save, so import and export now keep them.
The Bullets and Numbering menus only offered a fixed list of styles.
"Bullets and Numbering…" at the foot of both menus opens PowerPoint's
dialog: Bulleted and Numbered tabs with their styles, a custom bullet
character, Start at, Size (% of text, 25-400) and Color (automatic,
text or an accent), and None.
format.numbering now takes color and size like format.bullets, and
both clamp the size to PowerPoint's 25-400 %.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Adds Basic (stars, heart, crescent moon, teardrop, ...), Lines & Curves
(zigzag, waves, S curves, spirals, bounces, ...) and Special (figure 8,
bean, peanut, neutron, ...) motion paths with PowerPoint preset ids, so
they appear in the Motion Paths gallery, play back, and round-trip
through PPTX.

The Picture Format > Remove Background button was a disabled
placeholder. picture.removeBackground now flood-fills from every edge
pixel through similar colours: each step must be close to the pixel
before it (so gradients and soft shadows follow) and to the edge colour
it started from (so it can't leak into the subject). That region turns
transparent with a one-pixel soft edge, and the picture points at a new
PNG; undo brings the original back. Tolerance 0-100 (default 20); the
ribbon offers normal, looser and tighter. Pictures whose edges are all
subject are left alone, and pictures over 16 megapixels are refused.

Review > Thesaurus (Shift+F7) opens a Thesaurus pane on the selected
word, or on the word at the caret. Clicking a synonym while editing
text puts it in place of that word in one undo step, and the pane
then looks up the new word. You can also type a word into the pane to
look it up.
The word list is written for DeckCraft and has no third-party source:
about 260 senses of common presentation vocabulary in
engine/data/thesaurus.txt. It is embedded, so the Thesaurus also
works offline and in the browser build. Lookups try simple English
endings and keep the word's capitalisation. New commands:
review.thesaurus (a query) and review.replaceWord. Ribbon big buttons
now carry an accessibility label.

The model, renderer and PPTX already handled duotone, black-and-white,
grayscale and a transparent colour, but the Color menu offered only
saturation and grayscale. picture.recolor applies PowerPoint's Recolor
presets (No Recolor, Grayscale, Sepia, Washout, Black and White 25/50/75%,
and dark and light variations of Text 2 and the six accents) replacing
the previous recolour; picture.recolors lists them. picture.transparentColor
makes a colour transparent or clears it. The Color menu shows a Recolor
gallery of preview ramps and a Set Transparent Color colour picker.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
Picture Styles was a menu of six names, each running two or three
separate commands that left the previous style's effects behind. New
picture.style applies one of PowerPoint's 24 picture styles (frames,
shadows, soft edges, reflections, bevels, rounded, snipped and oval
shapes, a rotated frame) as one step that replaces the whole previous
look; picture.styles lists them and "none" clears the style. Picture
Format shows them as a thumbnail gallery, and a Picture Border split
button sets outline colour, weight and dashes.

Insert > Table > Draw Table turns on a table pencil. Dragging a box on an
empty part of the slide makes a one-cell table. Drawing a line inside a
table splits the cells it crosses, across or down, and adds a row or
column only where needed, so the cells it doesn't cross stay whole.
Table Design > Draw Borders has the pencil and a Table Eraser. A click
on a border merges the two cells on either side when together they
form a rectangle, and their text is kept.
The new table.drawLine and table.eraseLine commands are each one undo
step. The grid work is pure (engine/src/drawtable.rs). It rebuilds the
table from its anchor cells, so existing merges survive, and it caps
the grid at 200 rows and columns. Ribbon big buttons now carry an
accessibility label.

PowerPoint's Design tab shows the current theme in four variants. The
Variants group had only the Colors and Fonts menus. theme_variants builds
four colour schemes from the theme's built-in colours (as designed, two
accent rotations, and a dark variant with light and dark swapped), so
switching between variants doesn't drift. design.variant applies one to
the master; design.variants reports them and which is applied. The
Design tab shows them as a gallery before Colors and Fonts.

The model, renderer and PPTX already carried cell borders, diagonals,
margins and vertical alignment, but nothing set them. New commands:
table.borders (all, outside, inside, inside horizontal/vertical, each
side, diagonals or none, with pen colour, width and dash; the facing
side of a neighbouring cell follows, as in PowerPoint), table.cellMargins
(Normal, None, Narrow, Wide or per side) and table.cellAlign. They act on
the given cells, the selected range, the cell with the caret, or the
whole table. Table Design gains a Borders menu with pen weight, style and
colour; Table Layout's Top/Center/Bottom now align cell text (they set
the text body's anchor, which cells override) and gain Cell Margins.

Draw > Ink to Shape recognises each pen stroke on the slide's ink layer
as a line, rectangle, oval or isosceles triangle (apex up or down) and
replaces it with that preset shape, outlined in the stroke's colour and
width with no fill. Strokes it can't recognise, and highlighter strokes,
stay ink. The ink shape is removed once it has no strokes left. The
whole conversion is one undo step.
The recogniser (engine/src/inkshape.rs) is pure geometry: ends meeting,
area covered within the bounding box, and spread from the fitted
ellipse. Ribbon big buttons now carry an accessibility label.

deckcraft_pptx::import_theme reads the theme of a .thmx (its main document is
a theme part) or of a presentation's first master, with the media its format
scheme uses. design.browseTheme {path | name, data} applies it to the current
master as one undo step, giving the theme's pictures ids of this deck.
Design tab: Browse for Themes… next to the theme gallery and in the Slide
Master Themes menu; the desktop picker offers Office Theme (.thmx) and
presentations. Ribbon small buttons expose their label to accessibility (same
change as #512). Parity row Browse themes M → D.

load() ignored every failed media read, so a .deckcraft with a missing,
oversized or bad-CRC media member opened silently with empty pictures,
and the next Save overwrote the original with that loss.
load_checked() now lists each unreadable member (linked media saved
without bytes is not damage). file.open/openBytes return damagedMedia,
show a message, and open the deck as an untitled "(Repaired)" copy so
Save asks for a new name and the original file stays intact.

review.compare {path | name, data} reads a revised presentation (native or
PPTX) and lists slide-level revisions against the open one: inserted,
deleted and changed slides, with what changed (text, text formatting,
moved, resized, rotated, formatting, picture, objects inserted/deleted,
layout, notes, transition, animations, background, hidden). Slides match by
id, or by position when the decks share none (fixed for the session so
accepting doesn't switch the matching half way). Shapes match by id, then
name.
review.accept {index | all} applies revisions as one undo step: a revised
slide's media is copied (remapped on an id clash), its shape ids kept unless
another slide uses them (animations follow), its layout matched by id, then
name. review.revisions and review.endCompare complete the set.
Review tab: Compare (file picker), Accept All, End Review; the Revisions pane
lists changes with Go-to and Accept. Parity row: Compare presentations M → P.

AutoCorrect gains PowerPoint's options: correct TWo INitial CApitals,
capitalize the first letter of sentences and the names of days, fix
accidental cAPS LOCK, and replace 1/2, 1/4, 3/4 with fraction
characters. "word..." becomes "word…", "word," and "word." are corrected
too, and the built-in list grows from 13 to ~70 entries. The case rules
apply only to typing, not pasted text.
New text.autocorrect sets the options and adds or deletes replace
entries (your own win over the built-in list; deleted built-ins stay
deleted) and returns the list. Preferences ▸ AutoCorrect Options… opens
an AutoCorrect dialog with the options and the editable list.

Insert › Links gains Zoom, with PowerPoint's three kinds: Slide Zoom
(pictures of chosen slides on the current slide), Section Zoom (one per
chosen section) and Summary Zoom (a new Title Only slide in front of
the chosen parts). Each zoom is a picture of its target that jumps to
it in the show. With Return to Zoom, on by default for section and
summary zooms as in PowerPoint, the show comes back to the zoom slide,
fully built, after the target slide or the section's last slide; going
elsewhere (a slide number, See All Slides) forgets it. Hyperlink gains
zoom_return for this; .pptx saves zooms as the linked pictures
PowerPoint writes as their fallback, so the return flag is DeckCraft-
only for now. Live thumbnails, the zoom-in animation and the native
p166:sldZm element are still missing; gaps.md says so.

A selected text warp shows one yellow handle per adjust.
Dragging it sets that guide value in one undo step.

New picture.artisticEffect applies one of 7 effects (blur, pencil
grayscale, line drawing, film grain, cutout, glow edges, photocopy) to a
picture's pixels, as PowerPoint does: the processed PNG becomes the
picture and the original is kept on PictureFill::artistic, so another
effect starts from the original and `none` (or Reset Picture) restores
it. Change Picture drops the effect.
PPTX: written and read as PowerPoint does, the blip being the processed
picture with the original and the effect name in
a:extLst/a14:imgProps/a14:imgLayer, so a deck from PowerPoint keeps its
effect, original and all, when saved again.
Picture Format gets an Artistic Effects menu.

Follow-up to the transition sound picker. The Sound box now lists
[Stop Previous Sound] and six built-in sounds (Chime, Click, Camera,
Whoosh, Drum Roll, Laser) that are synthesised as small WAVs when
chosen, so no sound files ship with the app; the same built-in sound is
embedded once however many slides use it. Loop Until Next Sound repeats
a sound in the show until another slide's sound or Stop Previous Sound.
PPTX reads and writes p:stSnd loop="1" and p:endSnd, keeps the sound's
file name in p:snd/@name, and setting a slide's transition to None no
longer drops its sound.

shape.pointType makes a vertex smooth (handles in line and equal),
straight (in line) or corner (independent), turning its segments into
curves so it has handles. shape.moveHandle drags a control handle; the
other one follows as the point's type says (given, or read from the
handles). shape.points also reports each vertex's type.
Canvas: clicking a vertex shows its handles, which drag (one undo step
per drag) and follow the type chosen for it. Right-click a vertex for
Smooth / Straight / Corner Point and Delete Point, or anywhere for Exit
Edit Points; a shape's context menu gets Edit Points. The selection box
is hidden while points are edited.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
New cmd::points with shape.editPoints (enter/leave; a preset becomes a
freeform in shape-local points), shape.points (vertices in slide points),
shape.movePoint, shape.addPoint (splits a line, quadratic or cubic
segment) and shape.deletePoint. After each change the box is fitted
around the outline and kept in place on the slide, rotation and flips
included. Closing edges are made explicit so they take points too.
On the canvas the edited shape shows its vertices as handles: drag one
(one undo step per drag), Cmd/Ctrl-click a vertex to delete it or the
outline to add one; Escape, Enter or a click elsewhere leaves Edit
Points. Shape Format ▸ Edit Shape gets an Edit Points item.
Not yet: smooth/straight/corner point types and Bézier control handles.

Picture Format › Adjust gains Compress Pictures, with PowerPoint's
options: HD 330, Print 220, Web 150 or E-mail 96 ppi, apply to the
selected pictures or all, and delete cropped areas. The new
picture.compress command downsamples each PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF or WebP
picture to the pixels its shown size needs at that resolution (JPEG
stays JPEG at quality 85, the rest become PNG), cuts away cropped areas
when asked, and only replaces a picture when the result is smaller or a
crop was removed. Originals nothing else uses are dropped so the saved
file shrinks; one shared with a picture that wasn't compressed stays.
One undo step restores everything.

font.replace {from, to} renames a font family everywhere it is named
explicitly: runs (latin, east Asian, complex script and symbol faces), end
marks, bullet fonts, list styles of shapes, layouts and masters, the master
text styles, the deck default style, notes, tables and the theme fonts, so
placeholders that follow the theme change too. Names compare
case-insensitively, theme references (+mn-lt) are left alone, a replace that
finds nothing adds no undo step, and missing fonts are recomputed.
font.used lists the families the slides draw in, for the dialog's Replace
list.
Home gets a Replace Fonts… button opening the dialog: Replace (fonts in the
deck), With (type or pick from installed fonts), and it stays open with a
confirmation like PowerPoint's. Ribbon small buttons now expose their label
to accessibility, which the UI test uses to click it.

Home › New Slide gains Reuse Slides… and Reuse Slides (Keep Source
Formatting)…, backed by a new slide.reuse command that inserts the
slides of a .pptx or .deckcraft file (all, a list, or a range) after the
current slide in one undo step. By default each slide moves to the
destination layout with the same name or kind, so it takes this deck's
theme; keepFormatting brings the source master and its layouts along.
Pictures, media and sounds are copied under fresh media ids, so ids
that clash between the two decks no longer mix up pictures, and shape
ids are renumbered with animations, triggers and connector ends
following them.

shape.effects gains `threeD`: top and bottom bevel (preset, width,
height), depth, contour, material, lighting, camera preset, X/Y/Z
rotation, distance from ground, and reset. The settings are read from and
written back to the shape's kept a:scene3d / a:sp3d XML (new
cmd::three_d), so they render through the existing camera and bevel code
and survive a PPTX save; extrusion and contour colours are kept as is.
The `bevel` key used to set only Effects::bevel, which neither the
renderer nor the PPTX writer reads, so a bevel set from the app vanished
on save; it now goes through the same path.
The Effects page of the Format Shape pane gets 3-D Format and 3-D
Rotation sections.

ui_soak_tests.rs drives the app through the egui test harness with seeded
random clicks, drags, keys (plain, Ctrl, Shift), typing and scrolling over the
sample deck. Every ten actions it checks that every document validates, the
selection is in range, undo, journal, thumbnail and texture caches stay
bounded, and no command or render panic was caught; at the end, that input
really reached the editor and the mean frame stays under 250 ms. Two seeds x
150 actions run in CI; DECKCRAFT_UI_SOAK_STEPS/SEED run it long.
Panics swallowed by the guards were invisible to tests: Session now counts
them (panics_caught) and deckcraft_render::panics_caught() counts render
panics drawn as blank. Textures::thumb_count exposes the thumbnail cache size.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
shape.fill gains pictureProps for a picture fill: tile on/off, tile
offset X/Y (pt), scale X/Y, alignment and mirror type, stretch offsets
(left/top/right/bottom), and rotate with shape. `transparency` now also
sets a picture fill's opacity. Values are clamped and unknown keywords or
non-finite numbers ignored. The Fill page of the Format Shape pane gets a
"Picture or texture fill" option with a picture source button and these
controls. The model, renderer and PPTX reader/writer already carry the
fields; a new engine test checks they survive a PPTX save and reopen.

Transition sounds were read from and written to .pptx but could not be
set and never played. Transitions › Timing gets a Sound box ([No Sound]
or Other Sound…), backed by a new transition.sound command that embeds
an audio file on the selected slides (or removes it with none). In the
slide show the sound plays as its slide comes in and, as in PowerPoint,
keeps playing into the next slide unless that slide has a sound of its
own. Built-in sounds, Stop Previous Sound and Loop Until Next Sound are
still missing; the parity docs say so.

Shape Format ▸ Text Effects lists the 40 prstTxWarp presets and
No Transform. format.textWarp sets or clears that warp on the
selected text, with optional adjust values.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
There was no way to make text see-through: the only Transparency
slider was the shape fill's. The new format.textTransparency command
keeps the text's colour and sets its alpha (replacing any it had, and
dropping it at 0). A run without its own colour takes the colour it
shows now, so inherited placeholder or theme colours stay as they are.
Gradient text gets the alpha on every stop. The Format Shape pane's
Text Options page gains a Text Fill section (colour and Transparency),
and the Shape Format › Text Fill dropdown has the same slider.
Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>
shape.effects gains shadowProps / glowProps / reflectionProps that adjust
the current effect (or add a default one): shadow colour, transparency,
blur, angle and distance; glow colour, transparency and size; reflection
transparency, size, distance and blur. Values are clamped, non-finite ones
ignored. The Effects page of the Format Shape pane exposes them as sliders
and colour pickers.
