* PEDIT Multiple at the command line (#2182)
`M` at "Select polyline" answered that Multiple was only available through the JSON form. It now
works as in AutoCAD: select objects (polylines, lines and arcs), turn the lines and arcs into
polylines on Yes (left out on No), then each option applies to all of them: Close, Open, Width,
Fit, Spline, Decurve, Ltype gen and Reverse. Join joins the selected objects with each other,
ends within a fuzz distance, and reports how many it added. Undo takes the last option back.

* Geometry parity status line for PEDIT Multiple

* PEDIT Multiple: objects selected first, and Decurve after Fit or Spline
Several objects selected before PEDIT go straight into Multiple, as in AutoCAD, and M keeps a
selection made first. Decurve gives back each polyline's vertices from before its first Fit
or Spline, as single-polyline PEDIT does; a Join drops that record for the joined polylines.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* PEDIT Multiple: the Decurve record follows Undo and survives a Join that joins nothing
Each Undo step keeps the record of the vertices from before Fit or Spline, so Fit, Join, Undo,
Decurve gives them back; a Join drops the record only for a polyline that took on segments.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
* PEDIT: Yes/No asked again on another answer; Decurve keeps a later Width
The convert questions (single and Multiple) take Y/Yes, N/No or Enter and ask again for any
other answer instead of treating it as Yes. Width clears the per-vertex widths of the vertices
kept for Decurve too, so Decurve after Fit or Spline and Width keeps the new width.

AREA's next-point prompt and DIST's Multiple points prompt offered Arc,
and MEASUREGEOM's Distance, Area and Volume options ask the same
prompts, but Arc printed "Arc: not available yet". Arc now turns on arc
mode with PLINE's arc options (Angle, CEnter, CLose, Direction, Line,
Radius, Second pt, Undo; CEnter takes an end point, Angle or chord
Length), and the arcs count in the distance, area, perimeter and
volume. A point in arc mode ends an arc tangent to the
last segment, Length after an arc continues along its end tangent, and
Undo removes the last arc. CLose ends with an arc back to the first
point. A point straight behind the last segment is refused with
"Invalid arc endpoint.".
In a DIST measured through one viewport, an arc's computed end, a typed
radius and a typed chord length are in the viewport's model units, as
Length's distance is.
LAYOUT SAveas printed "LAYOUT SAveas is not available yet." It now asks
for the layout (the current one by default) and the template file
(<layout>.dwt beside the drawing by default), and writes the layout as a
template: its page setup and paper space objects, viewports included, no
model space objects and no other layout. Named objects nothing in it uses
are left out, as PURGE All removes them. Layers the layout's viewports
freeze or recolor are kept, with those settings. The open drawing is not
changed.
The JSON form is layout.saveas {name?, path}, also reached as LAYOUT
{option: saveas}. A path without an extension gets .dwt. The command
also writes .dwg and .dxf paths and refuses other file types.
-VPORTS saved, restored and deleted named model space viewport
configurations, and MVIEW Restore placed one in a layout, but View >
Viewports > Named Viewports... had no command. The new command
vports.named runs from the menu item. Typed or from the menu it opens
the Named Viewports dialog: the saved configurations, a preview of the
selected one's tiles, and in the Model tab the name of the configuration
whose tiles are where the Model tab's are, else *Active. Restore shows
the configuration in the Model tab, and in a layout it starts MVIEW
Restore with the name, which asks for the corners. Delete deletes the
saved configuration. The JSON form takes {name?, delete?, p1?, p2?,
layout?}, and without a name it returns the configurations and the
current one.
Catalog rows for the new menu label are added in all 15 languages. In
docs/gaps.md, U11 is narrowed, and F15, U11 and F21 no longer list MVIEW
Restore (#633) or PURGE of multiline styles, which are on main.
docs/parity-checklist.md is regenerated with cargo xtask parity.
AREA reported an area or perimeter past f64's range as "Area = 0" (the
JSON form returned `"area": null`), and Add area or Subtract area could
push the running total past it, after which every total read
"Total area = 0". In MEASUREGEOM's Volume option, such an area waited
for a height that could never give a volume, so every later area in
Add or Subtract mode waited behind it.
`area` now returns "the area is too large" or "the perimeter is too
large". Typed, AREA echoes the same message instead of the result, and
an area that would carry the total past f64's range echoes "The total
area is too large." and leaves the total as it was. The Volume option
echoes "The area is too large." and does not ask for a height for that
area.
CECOLOR now reads "BYLAYER", "BYBLOCK", the index as text ("1" after
"red") or "RGB:r,g,b" for a true colour, from getvar, LISP and the
SETVAR ? list, where it was the ACI number (256, 0, 1, or the nearest
index of a true colour). The header still keeps the index and
CECOLOR_RGB, so DXF output and new objects are unchanged.
SETVAR CECOLOR takes "RGB:r,g,b" too, so a value saved with getvar
can be set back, true colour included.
No command changed an existing block's description; it could only be
given when the block was made or redefined (BLOCK, -BLOCK, entmake).
blocks.description (Modify > Object > Block Description...) changes
it: the block is the one the Block Editor edits, else the selected
reference's, else a name typed or a reference picked. In the Block
Editor, Properties with nothing selected shows the block's name and an
editable Description; BSAVE saves the new description with the block,
BCLOSE without saving drops it, and BSAVEAS gives it to the new block
only. A description is one line of up to 255 characters, and BLOCK and
-BLOCK now refuse one that is longer or has a line break.
Catalog rows for the new menu label are added in all 15 languages, and
docs/parity-checklist.md is regenerated with cargo xtask parity.
DimStyle::apply_fields rounded a value for a whole-number field such as
DIMDEC or DIMTMOVE and clamped it to 0..255, so DIMDEC -1 became 0 and
DIMALTD "300" became 255. DIMSTYLE, DIMOVERRIDE and the SETVAR overrides
that new dimensions take all accepted these values.
A value below 0 or one that rounds above 255 is now refused, as an
out-of-range value is. DIMADEC still takes -1. A lineweight given as
-1, -2 or -3 (ByLayer, ByBlock, Default) is no longer read as 0 when
the style's lineweight is positive, and a lineweight above 211 given as
text is refused instead of read as 211.
SETVAR wrote a DIM* variable to the drawing header without checking it,
so values such as DIMTMOVE 3, DIMATFIT 7 or DIMLWD 500 were accepted.
New dimensions then ignored them, because the style override goes
through DimStyle::apply_fields, which refuses them.
SETVAR now runs the value through apply_fields on a copy of the current
dimension style, as DIMSTYLE and DIMOVERRIDE do, and reports an invalid
value instead of writing it.
DIMTFILL and DIMTFILLCLR were not modeled, so a dimension's text never had a
background and lines under it stayed visible. Dimension styles now carry both
variables. DIMTFILL 1 hides what is drawn under the text in the drawing's
background color, and DIMTFILL 2 fills the box in DIMTFILLCLR. The box is the
text box widened by DIMGAP on every side. The arc length symbol over the text
and the DIMINSPECT frame are drawn over the background.
The variables work with SETVAR, DIMOVERRIDE and the style fields. DXF stores
them as DIMSTYLE groups 69 and 70 from R2007 and in the style's CADCRAFT
xdata in older files; the reader skips the record's flags, which also use 70.
For DIMTFILL 2, the dimension's *D block and EXPLODE add a SOLID in
DIMTFILLCLR under the text. A dimension drawn from the *D block it was read
with gets a background around each of the block's texts, before the block's
first text or first segment of the text's marks, except for a text that a
SOLID of the block already covers. The background stays after the drawing is
saved and reopened.
Tools > Inquiry > Radius had no prompts, so with nothing selected it
stopped with "`handle` is required". It now asks "Select arc or circle"
and reports the radius and diameter of the arc or circle picked. A
selected arc or circle is still measured at once.
MEASUREGEOM's Radius option and Tools > Inquiry > Radius also measure
the arc segment of a polyline under the pick. radius.measure takes an
optional `point`, and for a polyline it measures the arc segment nearest
that point.
AREA and Volume measured the selected object when `points` was given but
was not a list of points; they now report an error, and only an absent
or null `points` measures the selection. A volume too large for f64
(an area times a height) is an error in the JSON form. At the typed
prompt, a volume or an Add/Subtract volume running total too large for
f64 makes the prompt say "The volume is too large." and ask for the
height again, where it reported "Volume = 0" or "Total volume = 0".
MEASUREGEOM typed at the command line offered Distance, Radius and ARea,
and Tools > Inquiry > Angle ran without a prompt, so it failed asking for
{vertex,p1,p2} or {h1,h2}. MEASUREGEOM now has an Angle option, and it
and Tools > Inquiry > Angle ask "Select arc, circle, line <specify
vertex>". An arc reports its included angle. A circle takes the pick as
the first endpoint, uses the center as the vertex, and asks for the
second endpoint. Two lines or polyline line segments report the angle
where the lines meet, extended. Enter asks for a vertex and two
endpoints. The JSON form of angle.measure is unchanged.
MEASUREGEOM offered Distance, Radius and ARea, and Tools > Inquiry had
no Volume item. The Volume option measures a polygon of three or more
points, or a closed 2D object as AREA measures it, and asks for a
height. It reports the area times the absolute value of the height.
Add volume and Subtract volume keep a running total, as AREA's Add
area and Subtract area do. Tools > Inquiry > Volume (volume.measure)
starts the same prompts, and the JSON form takes points or a handle
and a height.
Engineering and architectural units show the volume as a decimal
number. The de, fr and ru catalogs get a "Volume" row, and
docs/parity-checklist.md is regenerated with cargo xtask parity.
ATTDISP had no menu entry. View > Attribute Display now has Normal, On
and Off, which set ATTMODE to 1, 2 and 0 as ATTDISP's options do. ATTDISP
can also be typed as 'ATTDISP while another command runs, and that
command resumes afterward.
The eight catalogs without a "Normal" row get one, and
docs/parity-checklist.md is regenerated with cargo xtask parity.
BLOCKREPLACE (and -BLOCKREPLACE) turns every reference of one block, in
model space, the layouts and other blocks, into a reference of another
block at the same insertion point, scale and rotation. Each new
reference carries the replacement's attributes, with the values of the
tags both blocks define, and is annotative when the replacement is.
The command then asks whether to purge the replaced definition, and
removes it only when no dimension style names it and no block
reference, dimension or multileader in the drawing or in another block
definition does.
The command refuses a replacement that references the block it
replaces, a dynamic block as the block to replace, and blocks that
come from an xref. It does not run while the Block Editor or REFEDIT
is open. The ATTSYNC helpers in blocks/attribs.rs walk the references
and build the new attributes.
The self-reference check that BLOCK, INSERT of a file, REFCLOSE and
Lisp block creation share now also follows dimension blocks and
multileader block content, so BLOCK no longer accepts a redefinition
of A from a multileader whose content is A.
docs/parity-checklist.md is regenerated.
* analysis: report found/analyzed/skipped, caps and implausible values (fixes#1440)
* docs: document the functions touched by #1440
Add doc comments to the self-check helpers, the COUNT/SHAPES/MASSPROP entry points and helpers, and the tests and fixtures the analysis self-check change touches, so CodeRabbit's docstring coverage check passes.
* analysis: tolerate rounding past a bound, and skip area checks without extents (#1440)
The self-check's implausible() compared value > bound exactly, so a border
rectangle whose shoelace area equals the extents' width * height could be
flagged by one ulp of rounding. Allow a 1e-9 relative slack past the bound
(the roundings of two ways of measuring the same thing), while a clearly
larger value is still flagged.
MASSPROP and SHAPES fell back to an extents area of 0 when nothing visible
gave the drawing extents, so every region or shape with area got a false
"area is larger than the drawing extents" flag. Pass f64::INFINITY instead:
implausible() already skips non-finite bounds, because no bound applies.
Tests: one ulp past the bound is not flagged while 1e-6 past is; an
extents-filling rectangle is not flagged; invisible-only masses/shapes with
no visible extents are not flagged.

A pick inside a multiline wall found the band between the wall's lines
as the outer boundary, but the rooms the inner lines enclose were
dropped as islands: island_curve accepted lines, arcs, polylines and
splines, not multilines. The rooms were filled along with the walls. A
multiline's lines can now make up an island like the other open curves.
